On our tour we spent the day with Wendy. She had great communication on letting us know when to be picked up and where she would be etc. she was on time and very friendly! She had plenty of snacks, food and drinks for everyone as well as on board entertainment; from local stories on the stereo to her knowledge of the island and nature. We spend the day driving through the Valley, going up the Haleakala Volcano, exploring hiking trails and driving/swimming through the Iao Valley, which was one of our favorite activities! We would highly recommend this service for their attention to detail and passion for what they do.

If we could give this tour, and Wendy, more than five stars we would!!! We did a customized sunset tour of Haleakala, and it was better than we could have ever imagined. Wendy was extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, accommodating, and experienced! She made this tour so fun and educational, as well. She was able to answer all of our questions, from the history of the island to the best views of the sunset. Wendy really focused in on the information that we wanted to hear and helped us see all of the best sights, making sure we were enjoying the tour the entire time! She was prepared with snacks, water, walking poles (which saved the day), blankets, dinner and so much more! We will definitely be using Unique Maui tours again when we have the chance to get back to the Island. This was the highlight of our entire 10 day visit to Hawaii!!! My family and I would HIGHLY recommend this tour!

My family and I had a great day at Haleakala with Wendy. She was thorough in everything from communicating with us prior to our trip making sure every detail was addressed. Her attention to our comfort was impressive. Her knowledge of the area and its history, which included storytelling was so refreshing and entertaining. All around fantastic day which included hiking and discovering fauna. We loved this trip!

Wendy was incredibly responsive and prepared for our time together on Mt. Haleakala. Prior to our time together, Wendy called us to remind us what we needed to bring and what the experience would entail. We really feel like we learned so much and would absolutely recommend her to any one of our friends. Thank you for a great experience, Wendy!

My husband and I appreciated Lance calmly driving us to Hana and back so we could relax and enjoy the curvy road with its many beautiful bridges and ocean views . Lance was thoughtful about timing our stops, helping us be sure to experience the beaches, birds, banana bread and coconut ice cream vendors. He explained many aspects of Hawaii from culture to flora and fauna all of which added to our appreciation of this lovely state .

Great company! Our driver, Johnny, was very professional, right on time, and ready to show us all the sights on the Road to Hana. The SUV was large and comfortable and very clean. We are a family of four with older kids (19, 21) and decided to use unique Maui tours so that everyone could enjoy the ride. Johnny was a safe driver, very knowledgeable about Hawaiian history, and knew the perfect places to stop. He took lots of pictures of us and shared them to our phones when the trip was over. He swam in the waterfall with our son and even volunteered to jump
off a cliff if our daughter was scared to go
1st!! Also accommodated additional stops at the last minute (when we requested to go to the Hana general store for a t-shirt). Would highly recommend this company. Great day. Highlight of the trip.

My husband and I spent the day with Delphine and Wendy. We had been to Maui several times before and wanted to spend some time exploring upcountry. They did not disappoint. We started the day visiting Iao Valley and it was a perfect sunshine filled day. From there we went Maui Pineapple tour which was excellent. Delphine set lunch up at Hali’imale General store. It was delicious. Our afternoon was spent with a tasting at Ocean vodka and then touring Pa’ia and seeing turtles. She has many tours available but we asked for a custom tour and it was spot on for what we wanted.

Recently I had the pleasure of joining Wendy for a birding tour with Unique Maui Tours, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. Wendy's expertise and passion for birding, combined with the stunning natural beauty of Maui, made for an unforgettable adventure.
From the moment we set off, Wendy's enthusiasm for the native birds of Maui was infectious. With Wendy as our guide, we saw and heard the iconic ‘i'iwi, the vibrant ‘apapane, and the elusive nēnē, Hawaii's state bird.

Our guide Delphine made The Road To Hana even more special with her great suggestions, stories, and overall cheerfulness. She showed us the highlights we researched ourselves and also some hidden gems that you have to experience to believe. The tour was SO worth it to anyone considering taking the plunge.

It was a wonderful tour! Wendy took us to a chocolate farm where Ann told us all about the chocolate process. We tasted 6 different chocolates from Hawaii and other countries and then made our own hot chocolate to take with us for sunset at Haleakala,the Maui Volcano. Wendy had folding chairs, hand warmers and a great box dinner to enjoy just before sunset! it was very special!🤩

Would you recommend the eight or 10 hour trip to Hana?

Aloha Tim! On the Best of Hana (7-8 hours), we go about halfway to Hana—this allows us to take our time at the places we stop at: waterfalls, short hikes, Ke’anae peninsula. We usually recommend this one for families with active kids who don’t want to spend too much time in the car. On the Unique Road to Hana (9-10 hours), we go all the way to Hana and back, sometimes doing the counter clockwise loop so that we avoid crowds as much as possible. We get to see many more waterfalls, scenic views, have lunch in Hana town, visit the Waianapanapa Park (Black Sand Beach) and more—and yes, we still make time for swimming, hiking, and exploring! It’s a very full day with plenty to do and see for all levels of fitness, and we guarantee a good night sleep after that ;-)
