My hike to the cliff of Pu"u Pehe was the highlight of my trip to Lanai. As you approach the island, this cliff and boulder are a curious and very cool sight. Once that you are on Hulopoe beach, it is only a twenty minute...More

Easy hike up. (can do in flip flops, but sturdier shoes highly suggested) Great views await you. If you're lucky you can spot the spinner dolphins playing or some whales passing by. (we saw both) If not you'll still be able to see some beautiful...More

This is an absolute must see. Easily the highlight of the island. Such a beautiful view! It’s a short, easy hike from the beach. Don’t miss it!

Location is beautiful -- rugged sea, rolling waves, blue sky, colorful sand, sweetheart rock with a story about lovers, not many tourists (when I was there), and a very peaceful place.

This unsual rock formation is a short walk from Manele Bay and the Four Seasons hotel. The view of the rock and the nearby cliff takes your breath away. The surrounding ocean landscape and tidal pools with marine life also reminds you of Hawaii of...More

Wow. There is something mystical and magical about that spot. The stack of stones at the top of Pu’u Pehe do resemble a tomb and lends credence to the Hawaiian tale of tragic love, although scientists claim it’s a bird heiau.

Gorgeous view, and a nice hike there! We also met many great people on the way here, locals that had just caught and cooked fish offered us some, and made us drinks. We had so much fun on this island, and at this particular location!

This was a great walk and it was not difficult to climb. We did it with our six year old and he was fine doing the walk. Our intention for this walk was to find a geocache and with success we did find and also...More

Sweetheart Rock is probably the most photographed area on Lanai. Once you take the walk up the nearby cliff, you will see why. The walk is less than one mile round trip --- and is a "must do" , even for day-trippers.

We appreciate that the local culture is being restored and respected, and we really enjoyed our visit to Puu Pehe. It's a fairly accessible walk, even if one has limited mobility. The views are amazing, and again reaffirm the varied sides of this island. The...More
