Sometimes considered part of Poipu Beach Park, this separate beach is probably best known to locals as Kiahuna Beach. Turn right on Kapili Road (at Sheraton Kauai sign) and go to the end of the road and turn left on Hoonani Road. It is reached by traveling past the Sheraton Resort. There is a small public parking space along the road. Facilities available. Generally a good swimming beach, with locals trying their boogie board tricks.

Awesome beach, but watch out for bag snatchers. If you park your car at the beach access parking lot at the end of Poipu beach road, or anywhere by the turnaround, and you decide to sit anywhere on the beach adjacent to this around, watch out for bag snatchers. We spotted one guy hanging out by the public restrooms and as soon as we went down to the water to cool off, he made a beeline for our stuff. My wife turned around and spotted him walking towards our stuff, he immediately stopped and knelt down and looked around like he wasn't doing anything, she got out of the water and walked back to our chairs and the guy turned around and headed back the restrooms and then disappeared. Looked very suspicious to us. In hind sight, it would have been better to move further down the beach, where it is more difficult to walk on the sand to make a quick get away.

Like I said, awesome beach, great beginner surfing beach, but just watch out for the bad guys, they could have ruined our vacation.

Having stayed at Kiahuna Plantation which fronts this beautiful beach, there's nothing to complain about. Just a few steps from our unit, without having to worry about parking, I was able to enjoy early morning strolls, and my favorite...at dusk when it felt like it was just me, the crashing waves, a lone surfer from afar, and a horizon deflecting orange and purple hues.

There is access to the public but parking can be a struggle because of the beach front resorts (such as Sheraton) making it an advantage for guests checked-in with lesser people to share the shore with.

I find the sand finer here vs Poipu Beach that getting in the water makes it more pleasant to the feet especially without the big rocks. We spent an entire day here beach-bumming it that I wish we could've done one more time before leaving the island.

My wife and I were staying at Koloa Landing and wanted to get some more beach time. We drive down to the tiny parking lot and ended up finding some street parking. Once you get up to the beach it’s beautiful. Very nice, clean, soft sand and clear water! The waves were a little big the day we went but very manageable if you went just a few feet in the water past where they were breaking. There are some rocks under the water so be careful. I saw a lot of people snorkeling so I think it would be good for that. A lot of people boogie boarding and a few surfers too! There’s a bathroom and fresh water wash. Just don’t put your stuff too close to the water. Occasionally, the surf will come way up the beach. You’ll see where everyone else is set up and get a good idea.

Driving around and found this great little beach off the side of the Sheraton. Small parking lot or some street parking, they have showers and bathrooms, entry can be kind of rocky in some areas. Sand is soft and white, can get busy but there is room to spread out.

We strolled along near the Sheraton resort and watched some surfers off Kiahuna Beach. The winds were pretty strong both times we went and it looks too rough for swimming / snorkeling although we did see a couple brave swimmers. The views and sunset were beautiful. Lots of people working on their tans.

Great beach! Soft sand and was very clean. More spacious and less crowded than Poipu Beach. You get a mixture of kiddos learning to surf & successful surfers catching a wave.

This ended up being our favorite beach and it’s a great, little known gem. Less crowded and more intimate than Poipu. It has beautiful views and nice facilities. Gorgeous sand, decent waves, and easy to get to as well. There’s parking on the street near The Sheraton. If you keep going past the Sheraton (towards the dead end), there is a public lot. It’s marked with the standard public beach access teeny tiny signage :)

We have been to Kauai for more than 10 times, this is my favorite beach. I Call it the Sheraton beach, because it is mostly in front of the sheraton. It has never been too crowded, all beaches are open to all on Kauai. During the summer I love the waves for boogie boarding, some surfing going on there, and a company does lessions right there too. Some shade if you get there early, which I think doing the beach early is best for the sun, then you can go eat lunch. I like to drop off car load at end of the road in front of the Sheraton, then go find a place to park. Another reason to go early, easier to park.
