This beach is perfect for swimming. It stays fairly shallow until about 100 feet out. The waves are generall no more than 1 foot, and very gentle. There are bathrooms and changing facilities, as well as showers. Restaurants, shopping, and grocery within walking distance. The...More

The bay is calm and therefore great for swimming. We did not access through Princeville as that is unfortunately a big resort complex that kills the whole natural aspect of Kauai. we took the small bridge over to Hanalei and went to the bay from...More

Probably the most beautiful beach setting in the world. However, people, perhaps locals, let their dogs run wild. Our little part of the beach off of He'e street (Waioli Beach Park) reeked of dog urine and feces. Watched a black lab do its business at...More

Surprisingly uncluttered. Pristine sand and outstanding area.. Plenty of parking. Everything is clean and everyone seemed respectful of the physical area.

This was my favorite beach on Kauai. It is such a picturious place. We spent several days going back there. Boogie boarding was fun plus we got to watch some surfing competitions.

Best thing to do is to stop at the overlook on the road leading to Hanalei in order to get the best views of the bay. It's really spectacular and quintessential Hawaii.

Get there early if you want to find parking! We found that the county beach lots were filled by 9 am, and you had to park on side streets. This was our favorite beach for stand-up paddle boarding, particularly if you were on the end...More

This is a fun beach to visit for the day. Difficult to find some parking but worth it. This is a huge sandy beach that reminded us of California style beaches. Great for swimming, booth board and surfing.

Not good for tourists to rent Airbnb or Brno in Hanalei or anywhere north. Or able to drive north of Hanalei too. Biz r open for tourists there. But some places flooded and molded out like dolphin I’d not eat at.

Not much of a beach to surf at, very shallow waves that crash on the beach in some places. The best part of the absolutely stunning scenery from the end of the Jetty. You can jump off the jetty into the beautiful clear water... More
