Hanalei Bay is magnificent! It's huge, with room for a lot of surfers. (No swimmers when I was there due to incredibly rough seas) This beautiful bay gives those who dare to brace the ocean a chance to play. Restrooms were available, and lifeguards were...More

We are not world travelers by any means, but on a trip to Kauai we fell in love with Hanalei and Hanalei Bay. We stayed at Princeville but took as many trips as we could down the road to Hanalei. We loved the small town...More

This is one of Kauai’s best beaches. Excellent swimming, surfing, picnic spot and volley ball. However, even in paradise you find some glitches and this one is becoming largely overwhelmed with too many people and not enough oversight or upkeep. If the city of Hanalei...More

This is currently the end of the road in the north - everything west of here is closed. Mostly a surfing beach, and lots of rain, so not a traditional beach day. There is a lot of shopping in the area, so it's a good...More

No trip to Kauai is complete without visiting Hanalei Bay. It is such an unique picturesque bay with the Napali coast in the background. The kids and us had a blast jumping in the waves and bodysurfing. Towards the pier side there are lifeguard towers...More

We caught high tide and the beauty of the waves was breathtaking. Hanaleia is a very friendly little town with good food, nice shops and some history mixed in. I think North Shore is the most picturesque part of the Island, but truthfully, the whole...More

Nice beach area with volleyball and grassy areas. Close to town. Parking is a challenge. Great place to relax and unwind or surf.

Parking is a little tough but once on the beach it’s chill. No huge crowd, sandy beach, no rocks. Good board and boogie board surfing. Watch the pros further out !

Not good for tourists to rent Airbnb or Brno in Hanalei or anywhere north. Or able to drive north of Hanalei too. Biz r open for tourists there. But some places flooded and molded out like dolphin I’d not eat at.

Not much of a beach to surf at, very shallow waves that crash on the beach in some places. The best part of the absolutely stunning scenery from the end of the Jetty. You can jump off the jetty into the beautiful clear water... More
