Be forewarned, this area is still closed due to flooding last year. The Na Pali coast is beautiful, but you need a helicopter or boat trip to see it. Book boats well in advance.

You can't get to Tunnels Beach right now. It is closed to the public for now. You must have a special pass to get there. BUMBER

Unfortunately the road is closed in Hanalei and there’s a monitored check point only allowing residents with permits to pass. Spring flooding has caused severe damage and landslides and erosion have left road impassable. One of my favorite beaches on Kauai and without a doubt...More

If you like to snorkel then search no farther than Tunnels Beach on the north shore of Kauai. It is by far the most beautiful place to snorkel, and enjoy the marine life. Parking can be a bit difficult so try and get there early...More

Parking for tunnels is so limited as to be nearly impossible. The snorkeling is wonderful though if you can manage it.

As of August 16th, the road leading to Tunnels Beach remains closed. Damage from the April flood and subsequent mountain collapse may take several years to repair. You can get to Hanalei, but no further. We understand that because the tourists are missing, fish have...More

As of July 17, 2018, the road past Hanalei is still closed. Tunnels Beach is not accessible. A local told us that it likely won't reopen until next year.

In the fall, September, the beach was closed for one day because of wind/currents. Anyway, we lucked out, parked on a side street and snorkled. We were about to leave when somebody mentioned the turtle. So we put on the snorkle gear and went out...More

This place has the best snorkeling. Unfortunately, due to the floods and washed-out roads, it is inaccessible until further notice. Only those with proof they live there can pass the roadblock, and only on certain days. Try nearby Annini Beach instead.

The snorkeling at this beach is primarily why we drove halfway around the island to get here, and it didn't disappoint. The variety and abundance of tropical fish was very impressive. We went during the summer, so the water was fairly calm. My mask kept...More

They keep speculating on when they will reopen it but it's all contingent on weather and with the continued rain and flooding they have had since last spring it's not been looking good but fingers crossed 🤞
