An absolute must if you're staying in Kauai. Captain Jake and RJ took our family of 7 (out of a group of 13) on an absolutely amazing tour. We did the early morning trip and in addition to the breathtaking views of the mountains and beaches they were both very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the island. The ride was definitely an adventure, but wasn't too rough (our group had ages from 12 to 73 years old) and everyone had a great time. Got to see a pod of dolphins, visit several different caves, and had a chance to snorkel with sea turtles and see some beautiful reef. Captain Jake and RJ were hilarious and mixed in some great music along the way. Had the unique feel and personal touch of a small company that is rare these days. Had the best pineapple of my life as part of a well timed snack after snorkeling. As as added bonus, Captain Jake and RJ recommended some fantastic local restaurants and beaches to visit outside of the tour. Definitely the highlight of our time spent in Kauai and worth every penny!

We 4 adults enjoyed our tour of Na Pali coast. The driver (I think his name was Jake but not sure) seemed highly skilled and he took us into some cool caves and had a ton of knowledge to share about the history and geology of the area. Docking one star because 13 people is too many in a zodiac boat. Although everybody technically fits, it is very uncomfortable, hard to hang on, and seating is just inadequate. I'm guessing all the zodiac outfits do this but it really detracts from the experience. Also we thought the emphasis on seasickness, not eating and dramamine prior to the trip was hugely overblown,unless you have really choppy seas and are prone to seasickness.

For those wanting a more comfortable experience, we offer two other vessels with cushioned seats and room to walk around. These are also available as a private option for a more intimate tour.
We like to prep our guests as much as possible as a precaution due to our experience with seasickness. The main cause of seasickness is due to the slow rocking motion of the boat, so even on the calmest days, we want our guests to be comfortable.

If you come to Kauai this is the one thing you must do!!! This was our last adventure before going home and it was everything you could ask for. Not only was Erica a great captain and talked us through everything that was going to happen but Brian was funny and very knowledgeable about the island. The coast was breathtaking and the journey itself was definitely an adventure. The music was very on point when it came to bouncing through the waves! However, if you’re doing the rafting tour, I don’t recommend it if you have any form of back injury or are not ready to be jerked around but overall that is the price to pay for such amazing sights. Thank you so much to the na pali pirates this was the highlight of our trip!

Could not have asked for a better experience, or better crew. The boat ride was a blast (though be prepared it does get rough depending on sea conditions that constantly change, but the captain does all he can to ensure it’s as smooth as possible).
We saw spinner dolphins (can see every trip as long as you go in the morning) AND bottle nose dolphins, which we were told is rare as they’re usually found deeper, both right from the boat.
The ride along the coastline was absolutely breathtaking. With views, you can only see from the sea. We were able to zip in and out of tunnels, under waterfalls, and into a beautiful Cove.
The guides were able to give us all kinds of geological, historical, and cool stories from personal experience throughout the ride. They made it fun and made everything feel very much at ease.
When my wife and I booked we felt like it was expensive and weren’t sure it’d be worth it. Maybe 20 minutes into the ride we were totally converted. 10/10 would recommend.
Definitely go in the morning to get the best experience.

This was the absolute highlight of all the Kauai adventures! Nā Pali coast up close on the water. Went during 20+ foot wave high surf advisory. So we saw the sea caves up close without going inside. Crazy amounts of humpback whales, including three breaching into the air at once. Unbelievable experience to jump into the ocean from the raft. Both of our guides were knowledgeable, fun, and emphasized safety. Cool music selections with snacks and fresh fruit provided. Boat was sturdy and fast and incredibly fun. This is definitely a must-do for anyone visiting Kauai.
Pro Tips: Very rough physically. Not for elderly or those with injuries. Easy to get sea sick, eat light & use Dramamine. Not appropriate for pre-teen kids. Sunblock and secure hats needed.

We had the best time! The views were spectacular, we got to see dolphins two times and swam with turtles!! I would personally recommend to sit on the right side of the boat because you will have the best views when the hosts tell you all about them (on our way there)! We cruised with Shea (who I baptized Shea Butter) and Captain Jake Sparrow, they were the best! However, I think Jake should work on his playlist for the way back to the shore… and take special requests ;)
Anyways, 10/10 would recommend and it supports a local business!!!

I had the most fantastic time exploring the Na Pali coast with captain Erica and Seana! I’ve taken the big catamaran tours before and they don’t even compare with the closeness you get to see (and feel) the waterfalls, dolphins and the coastline. The big boats have to stay further away due to their size. We took the morning boat and although a bit early for vacation, got rewarded with hundreds of dolphins! They aren’t around so much in the evening. The shadows and sea mist in the morning also make it so dramatic and beautiful with the sunlight behind the towering spires. The ocean was also pretty calm the day we went out (mornings usually are as well). Do yourself a favor and spend a morning with the Pirates!! You’ll have the time of you’re life!!

Ive heard that doing a boat toar of the napali coast is a must when visiting Kauai, but I was really weary about it. All the tour companies seemed like tourist traps, and I didn't want to wait a bunch of money on a tourist trap. I wanted to see the napali coast for the beauty and the rich history of the coast line, and the Napali pirates delivered!! I had an 11/10 experience with Shawna and Jake (I think those are your names! Whoever was working on 9/16!) Was it for tourists? Sure. Was it worth it? 1000%! Can confirm:
-early morning is the way to go. You see more wildlife, and the ride is way calmer than the afternoon chop.
-the company gave an honest dipiction on the type of ride youre signing up for. I'm 28 with no back problems and I had a blast. I loved the small boat experience (and you get to go further in the caves!) you just kinda stay loose and absorb the bumps. If you're trying to just chill in a seat then maybe it's not for you.
-jake and Shawna were super down to earth and thoughtful. They did an awesome job educating us on the history and culture of the coast line, it was incredibly special. Something i won't forget.

The best tour! I understand that we lucked out on the weather etc., but this could not have been any better. Seana and her sister, Captain Erica, made the whole day safe and fun while riding this bucking bronco of a wild ride. When I saw the boat, I wasn’t sure how it would work, but I trusted their expertise and was not disappointed. The Na Pali Coast is world class, but touring it with locals was incredibly special. Being able to swim, almost touch the dolphins that played in our wake, and seeing the second whale the season was the cherry on top. Bravo, ladies! 10 out of 10 recommend and would do again.

We had a wonderful time on our tour down the Na Pali Coast with Na Pali Pirates. Shea and Capitan Jake made for a great crew and kept the trip fun all morning. We opted for the AM ride, which meant we were able to see tons and tons of dolphins and other sea-life while they were still waking up. We ended with a perfect and easy snorkel trip after seeing all of the beautiful coastline. If you are looking for a unique way to explore Kauai and the Na Pali Coast, you cannot go wrong with this experience! 10/10 recommend!

How rough is the boat ride? Why did one reviewer say folks in their 60’s might not be able to do it? Any details are appreciated. Thanks

I think the age is not the issue. It depent how our physical shape is. There is some big waves time to time. Your are sitting in the side of the boat and there are ropes going around the boat where you put your hands and feet to keep you in the boat during the journey. If you are in avarage shape, that’s not a problem.
