We did the first two miles trek to the beach. The hike isn't that easy with a lots of mud and a bit of elevation. The view is spectacular. Make sure to bring quite bit of water as it can get pretty hot.

The first two miles, to the Beach, are only somewhat difficult. An average person in normal shape should have no trouble. But the next two miles, up to the falls, is another story. Not so much a trail as a rockfall with the jungle cut back. The waterfall itself is quite excellent! However, getting there and back involves tricky footing,... More

We were fortunate enough to complete the entire 22-mile round trip hike at the beginning of August, spending 2 nights at the Kalalau campsite. Kalalau beach, valley, the trail and the Na Pali Coast are all part of one of the most beautiful and special places on earth. By no means is that hyperbole (just Google "Na Pali"). That said,... My husband and I hiked to the 1/2 mile marker. Up. Up. Up. Breathtaking views of Ke'e beach and coastline. This was my favorite thing we did on Kauai and we packed a lot in the week were here.

Amazing hike. Great waterfall after 4 miles, 2 to beach, then 2 up trail along river to the waterfall. Round trip 8 miles. I've done this hike on prior visits. Today, hiked it and very perilous conditions due to sudden rain and flash flooding. I would head all park service and coast guard warnings. Extremely dangers when flash flooding occurs.... More

Hi guys I really want to do the hike today either the 25th or 26th of August but every time I call state parks department they say it has been closed for the last few days due to rain. Has anybody done the hike in the last couple of days or are they just bluffing with me? Even on their... More

If you are an avid hiker, then this is the trail to conquer. To do the entire trail it will take you about 3 to 4 days to hike the entire trail. Most only do 1 way and arrange for transportation to pick them up and the other end of the trail.

Make sure you bring lots of water. We brought 5 liters with us and had an extra one in the car and we just about finished everything for two people. The hike is a little tough but the views are unparalleled and having lunch at the beach after two miles is an awesome reward. I've done this hike several times... More

We went there and went as far as the second lookout. That goes 0.5 mile, and 445ft., take as much water as you can carry, and be very physically fit, but every step is worth it, jungle, beach it goes all the way to a secluded beach and waterful, a must do in kauai if you like hiking, but remember... We did the popular four-mile roundtrip part of this hike on our first full day in Kauai in early August, and I can't recommend it enough. It was an awesome way to start our trip and be introduced to the beauty of the island. My husband and I are in our mid-30s, and while we are in good health, we... More
