The Oldest Catholic Church Building in Augusta still in Operation. This Magnificent Gothic Structure was started about 1853 and completed in 1858 . The Organ was ordered and in transit when the Civil War started and was caught in the Blockade and held up until the end of the War. The Church was used as a Hospital during the War for both Confederate and Union Wounded , About 10 years ago a Thoughtful Restoration was done and the Church and Organ look as Fresh as the day it was Finished over 150 years ago. Worth a Quick Visit . They have Daily Mass that Times Vary and it is usually open in the Day !

A beautiful and stunning church with fantastic windows and altar. The organ and organist is fantastic and extremely overwhelming. The church is in the traditional design and not a modernistic waste of effort.

parked across the street and my first reaction was "wow"... what a structure. Beautiful and worthy of pictures from the exterior. Didn't get a chance to go inside, but its on my list.

My most favorite time of the year to visit Holy Trinity is at 12:00 noon on St Patrick's Day. For 40 years, a more recently organized society of Irish in Augusta have made The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and the celebration of the Eucharist, the center point of their celebration of faith and family on the Feast of St Patrick.
If you want to really enjoy a sincere and (for the most part) reverent community and witness St Patrick's legacy as the faith is passed on to future generations, I would recommend this as a not to miss event.

Most Holy Trinity Church, built in 1851 after the 1810 wooden church was outgrown, is a beautiful example of Early Romanesque Revival. It has a registered Jardine Organ, the largest extant 19th C. organ in the South. It also has a crypt that holds the remains of 8 priests and one bishop, mostly from the 19th C. The crypt is only open on All Saints Day, November 1. Pick up a booklet in the Narthex "A Self Guided Tour and History of Georgia's Oldest Catholic Church" to enhance your visit.

This is a beautiful old historic church in the heart of downtown Augusta. I believe it was previously named St. Patrick's. Have attended mass there many times prior to marching in the St.Patrick's parade.

Most holy trinity is by far the prettiest church I have seen in my life, I love to sit in the church and just soak in the Holy Spirit, cause you can just feel the presence of the God. And if you get a chance to listen to the Jordan Organ, it is just amazing!

Why houses in n Augusta ga look alike and have statutes of st Mary in their yard?

North Augusta, like Augusta was a textile town and houses were built by the Mills for workers and not necessarily a lot of difference was used in construction. NA did have the ability to house the non-manual workers in a lot of cases. They also were used by the people moving cotton down the river to Savannah. There are a lot of "Irish Travelers" in NA and therefore the statues. The travelers are called gypsies due to their highly unusual ways of conning people out of money.
