Take a Stroll

The August Riverwalk is a great place for a spring or summer stroll. I've been on several ocassions and found it to be very pleasant and not too busy!

It was very nice in the morning to walk up and down the Savannah River. Looking at the water and other scenery around it was just nice. We were out early around sunrise and able to watch the fish and turtles in the water.

Best running spot in Augusta, shaded, flat and not too crowded. Relatively isolated but always feel safe

As we enjoyed our stroll we saw the staff preparing for an outdoor concert in the amphitheater while other groups were hunting pokemon. Tidbits of historic lore litter the walk on plaques for the curious. Young families may want to bring a towel and let the kids play in the fountain.

Took a little stroll with my girlfriend down the river walk. Very peaceful and serene. Great pictures and lovely houses across. They had places to sit and enjoy the river.

Riverwalk is nice for Augusta. It's clean and has pretty views. Like everything else in downtown Augusta, it's not spectacular because the powers that be don't invest tax dollars in upkeep unless it's Master's Week. That being said, it's something free to do during the day. It's not advisable to go there at night.

Riverwalk trip are always fun, there is a lot of activities going on year round, numerous hotels and local restaurants to choose from with fun activities like the Hispanic festival and other cultural activities from other countries. If you like James Brown, there is a statue of Mr. Brown not too far from the riverwalk.
