My cousin was visiting from New Jersey and wanted to see the sights of Augusta. We took him to this museum and we were all fascinated at the things that are on display throughout. The entrance fee is also dirt cheap. You won't be disappointed.

We were able to have a private tour. They had a beautiful quilt show on at the time. The love that Lucy Craft Laney had for education and helping to give children a start was such a touching story. The museum was her home and...More

We attended a dynamic photographic exhibition by photographer Jerry Taliaferro. Mrs. Christine Miller-Betts is a phenomenal woman and director of this museum. She was such a pleasure to meet!

I enjoyed showing my daughter this house and learning about the history. Also, there are other houses and places in the area to visit. So make sure you take the time to also find them.

While this Museum has a great story to tell about Lucy Craft Laney, it is sooo much more. There is history of Augusta and the people who live/lived in Augusta. Corey Rogers - Historian at the Museum - is the best story teller ever!

Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History is a soft spoken elegant friend of history. The black story told of success out of slavery. Empowered to be proud of who they are. I came here before the city museum and I live it.
