While touring downtown Tegucigalpa, La Tigra tours guide visited "Iglesia Dolores" with me. Thank God it was open and i got a chance to visit the inside. It is gorgeous. I enjoyed the images.

Old historic church, nice plaza with little tchatchki shops abound. They build a tunnel under it for traffic and there is great (and gawdy) statue of an angel slaying the devil in the middle of it all!

I used to come to this church when I was in High school and college. Every time I go to the downtown area I visit it.

The church itself is a beautiful colonial church. However, the plaza in front is in a ran down area and a more seedy part of town. I actually had a young man walk up behind me, snatch my earrings out of my ears and take...More

The church is no different than other colonial churches. It's pretty, but not unique. The plaza, however, is a great place to hang out. You meet friends there or enjoy 'people watching'. Also, there's a shabby market right next to it. In it you can...More

Stopped in here at 12:30 on Sunday afternoon and were told they were just closing. Got a quick peek before they closed the door. Best to time your visit before or after mass to ensure you can go inside. Just a short walk from Parque...More

It's a nice church and open to the public but it could use some cleaning or sprucing up but overall its a nice church to visit while on the hot plaza in Centro Tegus.

Very pretty place, nostalgic, under repairs but worth it to go see it. Take a vetted taxi cab and have them wait for you since its not a place to wonder off.
