Tegucigalpa is beautiful, but if anyone is tired of being in the city, El Picacho is the best place to find nature. There's a zoo with fantastic animals, there's a lookout to the city that even the airport can be seen. In my own experience, El Picacho has everything needed to be a park for kids and adults.

Took my four year old daughter to El Picacho where we enjoyed a visit to the zoo and to the park. Had a great time. Very safe too!

This was an amazing place to be! The view is spectacular. The Jesus statue even has holes in the hands and feet. You also get a nice little walk going up to the statue and back to the parking area.

We went with La Tigra Tours. We had a great tour and enjoyed the view. It gives you a great view of the city.

To get to El Picacho, one can take a bus up from a place near the centro (just ask around). Entry is 25 lps to the garden and another 10 lps to the statue. The garden itself is absolutely fantastic with a Confucian garden and a philosophical garden, not to mention a man made Mayan(?) Pyramid. Views were great as... More

Definitely worth the trip. Amazing views of the city. Be prepared for a bit of a walk. You are required to park a bit away from the actual area of the statue. Best guess 1/4-1/2 mile from the statue and views.

The walk towards the statue is not special; it's a dusty road with some nice views, which ends up in the area of the statue. You have to pay an entrance fee, which is higher for foreigners. The gardens around the statue are nice. You can get close to the statue, but only under it. 32 m is not that... More

Beautiful place, there's a lot to do and the view is just great. A must visit at Tegucigalpa for nationals and tourists.

This park is hilly, dusty and rocky with no grass. But in this park you have a very good view of the city.

We arrived with little expectations and really more of a curious nature as we had seen the El Picacho statue from the city...it was 25 Lps to enter, obviously reasonable. However, they failed to tell us that the statue area was closed due preparation for a wedding. However, we kindly asked to go in quickly and take some pictures and... More
