The museum takes you on a tour from earliest history right up through today, covering the early arrival of humans in the central American region, the development of the Mayans civilization, the arrival of the conquistadors, and the further development of Honduras today.

There are helpful printed cards in both Spanish and English located near most exhibits. The staff go out of their way to be as helpful as possible, and with the help of a translator app, will answer any question and were delighted to satisfy our curiosity.

Don’t miss the beautiful café in the lush gardens located at the back of the museum. You can spend a couple of hours enjoying the ambience with delicious drinks and food available there at a very reasonable Honduran price.

The museum is located a block from el Parque Central and the Cathedral. It's unimpressive from the outside, but great on the inside. It has a lot of artifacts and items on display that show the history of the Sula Valley and San Pedro Sula.

The bottom floor is particularly interesting for kids as it has recreation of older homes and it portrays the local way of life.

They have sheets with english explanations throughout the museum. It's very well done and would recommend.

The Museum of Anthropology and History of San Pedro Sula, is a very well organized and beautiful place to visit for all of those history lovers. It has both pre-columbine showcases and also after the colonization of Honduras. You may learn many things and observe many beauties of Honduran history through this museum.

The place does not look like much from the outside and I forget what we paid to get it (not much). The displays are not very eye-catching by today's standards, but this is a solid place to go to get an overview of the history here. It is interesting to see it from the perspective of the Hondurans - this is their museum and their story. I don't recall any English or languages other than Spanish - but I can't swear to it. My only mistake was going here with teenagers... if I had left them at home I would have spent more time here!

They want to see vaccination and their QR code
It’s online, free, so find the right one

The museum is a nice little museum a couple of blocks from the maim square. It is not a huge museum. It can be viewed in about an hour or less.

Started roughly twenty years ago, this unassuming museum thrives due to the care of the founders and those involved. It was the first museum in San Pedro Sula and, with little outside support, does an amazing job of capturing the history of the region as well as displaying wonderful examples of ancient art and other objects of value. Thank you, Theresa, for all your time spent with us and your love of anthropology and history!
