My mind kept wondering how they moved those stone sculptures. And then, my mind wondered how the stone masons cut the designs in the sculptures. I asked the guide about the relationship of hardness of the diamonds to the flint and jade.

As a retired Museum Director, I would describe this Museum as a professional Museum. As I visited many museums this trip, I truly appreciated the Museum which had the dual translation descriptions of Spanish and English.

Nice displays on two levels, connected with a ramp, but a little thin on information for a museum. We were there on a weekday and were competing with several school tours.

This museum houses some of the original sculptures from the main Copan site (which have been replaced with replicas), well set up and presented. Situated at the main site by the car park, you will need to leave the main site to access it.

The state of these antiquities has been preserved for us in a proper setting and adds to the enjoyment of the temples themselves by ensuring particularly fine art objects will not be damaged by exposure to the elements.

mainly original sculptures out of context. If you had a guide for the ruins this museum has nothing to add. The replicas are very similar to the originals so I really think this is unnecessary. Use your time wisely and go see the sepultures!

As beautiful as the grounds are you need to visit this as well as so many of the carvings and facades have been moved here. We visited afterwards which was good as we understood where they were originally from.

This museum is in the center of Copan Ruinas town and the entrance fee was very reasonable. The displays were well done and very informative.

Buy your ticket (separate admission) at the main ticket entrance and enter through the mouth of the serpent. There was a young lady immediately at the entrance and, since our eyes had not adjusted, she scared the "heck" out of us! The museum is definitely...More

We were very glad our guide took us there first because it "flowed" better when we got to the ruins themselves. Also seeing the originals and then where they were in the ruins was great.
