I got open water certified at UDC, and massive thanks to my instructors Marc and Valarie. It was such an incredible time there for below reasons. Professionalism: the program is very well structured. Instructors are thorough and clear, will guide you every step of the way to make sure you are comfortable, and well prepared for real dives. Community: it is an incredible community with friendly and culturally diverse staff, and really care about people. I once addressed concerns of having sea sick , and they got me sea sick pills. There is a restaurant/bar right on the dock, and UDC hosts events for people to socialize, overall a very warm and welcoming vibe. Fun dive: well organized fun dives, diving sites are filled with breathtaking seascapes, highly recommend night dive, string of pearls is a must see (globally rare). Environmental cause: the staff is dedicated to environmental & marine life protection. They will go out to the sea to pick up plastics, and place pathways on the beach to help baby turtles find their ways to the ocean. I can’t wait to go back for advanced open water, and highly recommend UDC to anyone who is passionate or interested in learning about scuba diving.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! I originally went to the center to complete my Open Water but I enjoyed it so much that I took my Advanced Open Water straight after! The biggest factor in why I enjoyed it so much was my main instructor Mathieu; he is absolutely incredible at his job and a great communicator who explained everything so thoroughly and clearly to me. I felt completely safe under his instruction and he was so helpful with anything I struggled with during both courses. He even went out of his way to arrange his busy schedule so I could do my Advanced course straight after my first course! His passion, energy and enthusiasm for diving was so enjoyable to be around - if you ever go to UDC, request to have Mathieu on your course! Also a massive thank you to Miguel, Greg, Laura and Hart for their help with both of my courses there too!

Getting the PADI Open Water Certification had been in my bucket list for quite a while so I started doing research about the places I could go. I asked for reviews from friends and they highly recommended UDC so I contacted them…BEST DECISION EVER! The professionalism, program structure, facilities, equipment and staff were top notch and all of my expectations were met and exceeded. Pat was my assigned instructor and I am so happy I got to learn from him because his passion for teaching and overall outdoor-traveling experience made everything so much easier to understand. UDC has also an internship program in which instructors from around the world can come over…that’s how I met Greg and was lucky enough to have his signature in my certification! I can’t wait to go back for my Advanced Open Water course and keep on accomplishing more recreational dives! UDC is the best dice shop that will definitely fit you perfectly just as a lock its key 😀

I had the chance to do 26 fun dives with Utila Dive Center in September of 2021. I cannot recommend them highly enough, awesome dive locations and even more awesome instructors, employees and boat captains! Having a restaurant and bar right on the dock where the boat leaves was super convenient and a great way to meet other travelers. The dive center is more so focused around obtaining PADI certifications and caters to the 20-30-year-old social drinking crowd but I also met others with UDC that didn't fit in this category. Shoutout the Joan and Mark for the awesome experience!

The experience was life changing to say the least. When I arrived at UDC I didn't know how to use my mask. My two amazing instructors Levi & Gabbi took me all the way through to Open Water! Levi was patient beyond anything I have ever experienced, he tolerated my painc and anxiety with such kindness and understanding that I couldn't help but return to calm and continue on. The entire UDC staff is amanxing, even the kitchen knew my order, vegan wrap no butter. The absolute upper ECHELON of the diving world are in Utila at UDC.
