About
Yoga Utila was started as way to promote traditional Yoga- its practice and its teaching, throughout the community, to locals, expats, and travellers alike- on the great little island of Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras. Our yoga classes are on a donation basis, in an effort to build and support a growing yoga community on Utila. Come and join us in this great space we had create to share yoga and a positive way of life!

I was in Utila in January,
after freeding I went for a couple of late afternoon sessions.
The site is quite nice, a high deck facing the sun set.
Lisa, the instructor was excellent, friendly and relaxing.
Made me realized that doing a bit yoga over there, helped me jumping even faster into the vacation mode. Will redo the experience

The new Yoga Shala, Over bush supermarket is a huge improvement for the Yoga Community in Utila. I am starting to do Asthanga Yoga and the place is perfect for the learning experience, also Aura the teacher is so awesome, she loves what she do, she have a lot of knowledge about yoga and she want´s to share all the benefits of practicing yoga in daily basis. If you want to do a different activity meanwhile your are in Utila or if you are a regular Yoga practitioner i really recommend go and do Yoga here. The best place so far!!

I had the chance to do my first ever yoga session with Lisa, the instructor of Yoga Utila. She was very friendly and enlightening, helping me learn at my own pace while pushing myself a little bit further. The place is incredible, in front of the beautiful Utila bay, even more beautiful doing yoga at sunset. After this first time, I decided to come back for every class during my stay on the island. I am sure it helped me enjoy even more diving and freediving because I was more grounded, relaxed and more focused on my breathing.

I love the new Yoga Utila Studio! Owner, Aura, has created a wonderful place to practice Yota. She is teaching a special beginner Astanga Yoga class for some of us, and has lots of classes to offer. A great way to add to your vacation or lifestyle! Located over Bush's supermarket, this lovely studio and excellent instructions are friendly and excellent. Fees by donation and ability to pay! Namaste.

This was my first time taking a yoga class. As I'm extremely inflexible I was initially a little worried however after just my first class I was completely at ease. Emma and Lisa both know their stuff when it comes to Yoga, providing me with alternative poses for those that are at this moment, unachievable.
I went to sunset yoga session on the dock of Freedive Utila almost every day I was on Utila. It was a great way to finish each day.
Thanks for introducing me to the world of yoga emma and lisa!

I spent two weeks in Utila and really wanted to find a place to get some exercise while on vacation. Yoga Utila was such a wonderful place for just that. Our instructor (Emma) was so good at her job, you can tell she really enjoys what she does. She provided us with a 90 minute relaxing, yet challenging class. You have plenty of time to get into the groove of things, the class was anything but rushed, and Emma was so great at helping everyone with their positions when they needed it. I felt like I learned a lot from her classes as i'm still fairly new with yoga. I would definitely suggest anyone looking for a great Yoga experience to check Yoga Utila out!

I was in Utila in january 2013 and I had a wonderful time on the deck learning Yoga with Lisa. I am not very experienced in yoga. Lisa is a very good and generous teacher. I do recommend combining yoga and a freediving course! The perfect combination! Learn to breathe and go beyond your fears of the oceans depths and silence...

Emma and Lisa are great! The lessons are at an amazing location (on a peer overlooking the bay, and from where you can enjoy the sunset). The are both knowledgeable instructors that cater for both experienced and beginning participants.

The setting at Free Dive is perfect for sunset yoga. As you start your practise the sun is just approaching the horizon and by the time you're laying in final savasana you're looking up at the stars. At only 100 lps or $5 per class it is definitely worth trying out a yoga class after a few days of diving. Just be sure to bring your bug spray!
