I finally took my beginner course and surprised myself in reaching the 21 meter goal. I’ve been trying to freedive on my own for years and finally am certified. I’ve been doing it all wrong this whole time!!!The skills I learned will also help me be a better scuba diver. Perfect place in every way. As soon as I landed in Utila I knew I was going to enjoy my stay. I stayed at Freedive Utila’s dive shop and everything was beyond perfect. The team is very passionate about diving and life in general. Beetroot the restaurant on location is awesome too!!!!! Thank you!! Thank you!!!! …

Freedive is something I always wanted to try but never had courage to go and do it. While having some free time from my scubadiving rescue course, I decided to challenge myself and take a Freediving course with Tex(Mark). The experience was absolutely incredible. I overcame my little fears and had so much fun. With professional help of my instructor (Tex) I went to 70 feet (20 meters) on my second day!It was challenging, but I felt great about myself. He made me believe I can go over my limit I set in my big head. I strongly recommend to at least to try a fun freedive! You will not regret it. The crew is very professional and knowledgable. You will feel safe by all means. Oh, btw, shop is located right on the main street next to UDC dive shop😉 Cheers, Mila…

I first learned of this sport only a week ago when I walked by their storefront after scuba diving. I went in and spoke with the lovely and enthusiastic Barbara at the front desk and immediately knew I had to try it. Everyone should! Free diving is as much a mental challenge as a physical one. It is hard to believe what your body is capable of accomplishing until you do it. The beginner course consists of theory and practicing the breathing techniques needed to be successful. It is also about learning to relax and trusting your body. You will finish the course with skills that you will use forever in daily life. Erin is a methodical and fun teacher who has the patience of Job. She, as well as the owner and staff are incredibly supportive of their students and other divers - it is all about doing your personal best and never pressure to hit a particular number (can’t deny though that it is gratifying when you do hit your goal - 12 meters the 1st day, 18 the second). At no time did I ever feel rushed or unsafe - not for a second. Erin always gave me whatever time I needed before heading under. Special thanks to Alex for kindly giving me extra support when I needed it.…

Recently took the 2,5 days free diving beginners course ... and to sum things up, I had a fantastic time with these guys!!! Erin as my teacher did an awesome job: excellent theoretical introductions, fantastic classes diving in the ocean with again lots of explications, excellently managed my problems equalizing the ears, huge knowledge about what she is instructing, you absolutely can feel her love for free diving! Thx Tex, the manager, is very welcoming, expert in this field and also always ready to help/ explain as well! Special: One day dolphins came into the bay area and the schedule was spontaneously changed to first swimming with them for an hour and afterwards we started diving classes. (And Tex doesn’t charge people for that in contrary to most scuba captains.) Thx so much to Erin, Tex and crew! Highly recommended when travelling to Utila, Honduras, Central America!…

I completed the beginners free diving course and was absolutely blown away with what I achieved. Prior to the course, I could barely make it to 5 metres (if that). I really thought I wouldn’t be able to make it to 12 metres, let alone the advertised 21metres. Sure enough by the end of the course, I made it to 21metres. The staff and instructors are super knowledgeable and encouraging. They offer you great support and information to help you achieve your goals. If you are in Utila, you have to do the freediving course. You will not regret it. …
