We passed our open water and open water advanced at Gunter's EcoMarine Dive Shop. We stayed almost 6 weeks on the island so we really got to know the people working there! The staff is very friendly, Tara the owner is really nice and helpful, and our instructor Ernesto was simply the best ! Learnig to dive with them was... More

I was planing on diving with them so I went to their hostel the first night. The room was extremely basic, but that's ok, it's a hostel. However, the (shared) bathrooms are in such a poor condition, that can barely be used. No toilet paper, not even talk about soap to wash your hands before eating. The dive shop has... More

Well it is a nice place to be there at Gunters! We have been there doing some divingcourses for two weeks. They do a good job but nevertheless there are also some weird to strange instructors! Try to get rid of them and ask for Ernesto or Aiden!! Both are amazing!!

A really nice service gesture we got from Gunters Ecomarine Dive Shop was that they were waiting for us at the ferry dock.  They had arranged this for us in advance so instead of walking or taking a cab to our hotel, they had their dive boat there to take us and our luggage back to their dive shop where... It was my first trip to Utila and to do diving, I completed my dsd course under Travs supervision and I really enjoyed it. Eco is a great friendly place where everyone is welcoming! Best place to dive by far!

Hi recently spent 7 days in Utila and did all my diving with the fantastic Gunther's Ecomarine Dive Shop run by Tara and Captain Steve :-) I did 8 dives with them to a host of different sites all around the island on their dive boat Salva Vida with small groups (maximum 10/12 but most of the time just 4/6).... I paid for my Advanced Open Water with Gunter's Ecomarine Dive Shop and I'm so glad I went there! It's just far enough outside of town that you're close, but not bothered by all of the extra noise. The staff is really down to earth and fun, professional, and accommodating. They have a beautiful deck, hammocks, a swing to jump... More

Awesome dive shop - I logged 80+ dives at Ecomarine in 82 days on Utila. Steve and Tara (managers) are great and the whole shop feels like one big family. On any given night you can find shop staff, locals, long-term ex-pats and dive customers all hanging out on the dock (bar) so it's a great place to meet people,... More

After spending 7 months diving on the small island of Utila Imcan honestly say Imcouldnt not have picked a better shop to deal with. Some dive shops there focus on the kids but EcoMarine caters to everyone and everyone feels at home. The instructors are very knowledgable and have the best Dive Masters to help on the dives and with... More

Very relaxed place with small class size ... very personal atmosphere! We got offered a double room instead of a dormitorio the time we spent there for the padi open water course and used one of our free dives for the deep water adventure dive what cost us 15 $ ... thumbs up! Very good stuff, uncomplicated!!! Will be back... More
