Kayak Utila is a small personalized kayak guiding service created to help folks enjoy the beautiful waters of this Caribbean island. While we don't do rentals (as there are a variety of local venues who offer that), what we offer is a variety of day trips amd also have multi-day and week long trips. Manager and lead guide Andi is ACA (American Canoe Association) certified sea kayak instructor, and an enthusiastic marine naturalist. Andi and her crew are dedicated to helping you have a great, safe day on the water, learning new or refining your paddle skills and emphasizing a better understanding of the natural world around you. Day trips include: -Kayak through the mangroves to the remote North Side,-Snorkel Kayak to the reef-All day trip to the Utila Cays with snorkel stops. Our trips are personalized, suitable from the beginner to the advanced, and can be modified depending on the group. We generally don't mix groups so that your trip is truly "your" trip!

Andi is a great teacher. After the week on Utila, I knew how to kayak and paddle board and had a much better understanding of the sea in general. She gave a very memorable lecture on the marine life we saw while snorkeling as well as a thorough description of the different principles of yoga. Her teaching style is easy... More

AND, she isalso a certified yogainstructor, so we gotto do yoga as well. I always felt safe on the water with Andy. she was... More

I learned about Kayak Utila on Trip Advisor, and it sounded like just the activity we wanted to try. Andi was great to deal with on booking the day trip. We did the kayak tour through the mangrove to Rock Harbor. Right from the time we got to the dock to get started, I (an non kayaker) felt very comfortable... More

Andi and Laz are great...huge group of people of varying skill levels, with no ability to decide what we wanted to do until we hit the water...never phased these two...got some newbies up on standup paddleboards, others in kayaks, and away we floated...amazing afternoon, great trip, and will be back

This was a fantastic way to spend a day on Utila. Andi and Laz taught the four of us some new kayak skills, and then guided us across the island through the mangroves. Far from delivering a nature lesson, they let us paddle at our own pace, sharing interesting facts along the way and helping us identify the wildlife. The... More

While in Utila, kayaking was recommended to us and we were told Kayak Utila was THE place to experience it. I can now say that was GREAT advice. Having met Andi previously during a local yoga class, we knew she was very friendly and super laid back so we were looking forward to our outing. That said, it was even... More

Andi was our tour guide through the mangroves and into the north side of the island. She provided great instruction on kayaking techniques, for 2 new kayakers. Her knowledge of the mangroves and the multitude of life under water was immense. It made for a fascinating excursion, one that we will not soon forget. She was also very personable, patient... I went on two paddle trips with Kayak Utila, one with Andi across the harbor and one with my boyfriend for the Mangrove Kayak with Jamie. Both were wonderful experiences. Andi and Jamie were extremely knowledgable and instructive with paddling techniques and tips. My boyfriend and I are experienced paddlers and we still learned a lot. The boats and paddles... More

We had originally planned planned to do the mangrove trip but due to recent thefts at Rock Harbor we sort of designed our own trip with guidance from Andi. After a lesson in efficient paddling, we set off into the mangrove, went about halfway up and then headed further up the lagoon to dock our boats and walk over to... More

Andi was an excellent guide. This was our first Kayak and snorkel trip for our kids ages 10 and 13. Andi was very patient and actually ended up spending most of the day with us since our children were slower kayakers. She fitted all the equiptment for us and made sure that it was all working properly. Andi is very... More
