Our group of 6 just returned from a wonderful vacation. We dove every morning with Dive Pangea, who came and picked us up from our Politilly Bight rental. The dive masters were very professional and extremely competent with all they did, but mostly we all had a great time together!

Due to the windy conditions we were unable to do more then the 2 tank morning dives, which is what it is. Would have loved to see Pigeon Caye or dive the south side a bit.

We only saw a few other dive boats the whole week, felt like we had the whole area to ourselves. highly recommend everything about Dive Pangea!

I highly recommend Dive Pangea. My family and I dove for 5 days and had a great time. Chrissie, Esley and Anthony were more than great. We stayed next door at the Camp Bay lodge so it could not have been more convenient. A++

My friend and I booked a couple of Dives with Dive Pangea in Camp Bay. The weather was a little windy but since we are both very experienced divers and they are used to windy conditions in the East end they took us out for a couple of morning dives first at McNab's Pinnacles and then to Puma Posse Pass. Both sites were fantastic, service was excellent, the boat captain Esley is a local and I can tell you since I've lived in Roatan for 10 years and have worked with a lot of dive boat captains in my many years as a dive intructor, he is a very skilled operator. Towards the end of the second dive the swells went from 2-4 feet to 4-6 feet. He followed proper proceedure and revved his engine three times signaling us to start our ascent. He skillfully negotiated the boat back to the dock like a man who has lived by the sea his entire life. I can't say enough good things about Dive Pangea. If you want some great diving with a professional team off the beaten track in Roatan, they are your dive shop!

On a recent trip to Camp Bay in Roatan, the winds were a little light for kitesurfing, and so I walked from Camp Bay Lodge to Dive Pangea Roatan, one house away on the beach. Chrissy and Brian, the owners, greeted me and were amazingly hospitable: I gave them no notice, walked up, and scheduled a dive for the next morning.

The next morning, I showed up at the designated time and enjoyed two dives all to myself: no other dive boats, no other divers, just the beauty of the place and the expertise of my guide.

Antony, a local scuba instructor, was my guide. He notices and points out aquatic life small (microscopic even) and large. In my ~60 dives, I've not encountered someone like Antony, who is able to see and share some of the smallest creatures: e.g., a decorator crab the size of my pinky nail and super camoflaged, Elysia crispata (little sea slugs on the back of leaves), and more.

If you dive and want something more secluded than dives on the west side of Roatan, check out Dive Pangea.

I can't wait to return.

Hi Jess, Thank you for taking time out to write such a thoughtful and thorough review! We are so glad you enjoyed your dives with Anthony, a/k/a "Los Ojos" (spanish for The Eyes 👀). He definitely has a gift and the passion for finding critters that you would otherwise never know were even there! We hope to see you back in Camp Bay soon!

Just got back from a week of diving with Dive Pangea and had a fantastic time. If you are looking for a small, friendly, family run dive shop then Dive Pangea is for you. Chrissy and Brian are awesome people and very responsive and customer focused. This dive shop is on the East End of Roatan which is why we selected this location; to get away from the crowded dive sites on the West End. Our objective was accomplished. We didn’t see another dive boat when we dove the North side of the island. When we went to the South side we only saw 1 other dive boat. It’s awesome if you like the feeling that the whole island is your own private island.

Because of their remoteness your lodging options are limited, however, there are two houses next door to the dive shop you can rent. They are both very nice and a 1-2 minute walk on the beach to the dive shop/boat. I can highly recommend either one — Living Waters (4 bedroom) or Casa del Alma (2 bedrooms). The other thing that made the trip awesome was having a private chef (for only $75/day) that cooked us breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday.

Our focus for the trip was lionfish hunting and because the dive sites we dove were mostly unnamed sites and therefore seldom, if ever, dove there were plenty of lionfish for us to kill. For the week we killed about 400 of them. The best part besides helping to protect the reef from these voracious predators was that they are awesome to eat. Our chef made us lionfish ceviche everyday (which is my favorite ceviche) as well as lionfish fingers, lionfish soup, grilled lionfish, etc. We ate it a lot but never got tired of it because she made it a different way each day.

In summary, if you like diving in small groups at dive sites where you most likely won’t see another dive boat, then this is the place for you.

Outstanding shop and staff! Highly recommend if diving on the east side of Roatan. I logged 10 or 11 dives (including a night dive) with Dive Pangea; Chrissie, Teeny, Anthony, Jonny, Esley and of course little Chris were so great to work with.

The dive leaders let you go at your own pace if you want to take things slow and really examine the reef life. Morat wall, Pigeon Cay and Dolphins Den are all extremely memorable dives. Best of all, Chrissie was so easy to work with when planning dives; we were also kitesurfing, and she was really flexible about letting us change dive plans at the last minute if there was good wind.

The shop pays close attention to standard and safe diving practice; we always had clear dive briefings and mandatory 3 min stops. The rental BCDs and regs are well maintained and in good condition. Just an outstanding experience!

DIVE SHOP/TEAM: Chrissie and Brian run a top notch outfit. Dive masters/instructors:Teeny and Anthony were so much fun to dive with: easygoing, LOVED their job, allowed us to stay under until 800ish psi (60-80 min!!), never rushed us, showed us lots of critters big and small, carried all our gear, found our lost equipment, changed our tanks (we felt very spoiled) and just made it such a fun week. Esley was a a master at the helm in some less than ideal conditions and was always there to grab our gear. Johnnie; Anthony's brother and turtle Chris rounded out the incredible team Chrissie and Brian have put together, trained, and continue to support and develop.
DIVING: Topography was amazing, only boat at all dive sites, saw nurse shark, eagle rays, seahorse, huge angel fish, tiny decorator crabs and got to swim through a few caves.

Dive Pangea offers excellent service from the remote Camp Bay Beach. If you're looking to get away from the crowds Camp Bay is the place to be!

What to expect diving: most dive sites are a 5-10 minute boat ride from the dive shop, so usually, you'll return to the dock between dives for your surface interval. Expect to see spectacular canyons and 30-50 ft coral heads and walls sitting in a floor of beautiful white sand.

Support Roatan Marine Park while you're there by learning how to hunt the invasive lionfish!

Notes: Camp Bay is truly off the beaten path. To get there, you must brave a 30 minute drive on a bumpy dirt road, strewn with potholes. Dive Pangea and Camp Bay Lodge were the first outside establishments on the beach, built less than 10 years ago. Please be respectful of the locals. You are visiting their home. If you want a ritzy, full-service hotel and a hopping night-life - stay over on the West side of Roatan.

I’m not sure how I missed your review 🤪! We were all so happy to see you both back in Camp Bay, especially after being on the front lines of Covid 💪🏽❤️ Thank you for everything you are doing for the "kids" and sponsoring your program to get more Islanders to experience scuba and discover the underwater wonders on their island. Love you both and see you soon! 🥰

I had an amazing and unforgettable experience taking the PADI Open Water Scuba Diver course at Dive Pangea. Chrissie was incredibly thoughtful and generous with her time as we frequently had to adjust to weather changes and covid precautions. She is a wonderful human all around, an awesome PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and offered local tips to make our vacation more enjoyable.

My rock star instructor Anthony, a native of Roatan, is a methodical teacher with incredible patience and persistent care. His teaching is coupled by his vast knowledge of the sea and his gift for spotting sea life like no one can. I had never gone snorkeling or scuba diving before I visited Roatan and have a fear of the sea. What Anthony and Chrissie helped me accomplish was truly moving and life changing 🌊💙. They went out of their way and worked on a cold rainy Christmas day to help me complete as many dives as we can in the course. It truly is such a special treat to be around people who deeply love what they do and it really shows.

I stayed at Camp Bay Lodge for a week and walked over to Dive Pangea every day for my PADI course. The hotel, the pristine beach, the restaurant and the dive facility nearby all made for an exquisite and relaxing vacation. I feel so lucky to have crossed paths with Chrissie and Anthony and I’m excited to return to Roatan as a PADI certified Open Water Scuba Diver for more dives and possible advanced courses with them. 💙🌊🐋🤿💫

I am not sure how I missed this review, but better late than never! Anthony is a gifted human being and instructor and he was so honored to have you as his first student. He still talks about you and how much he enjoyed teaching you to dive and to be a part of your discovery of the underwater world. 🥰 Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review, we think of you often and hope to see you back in Camp Bay soon!

I logged 14 dives with Dive Pangea Roatan in November, 2020, including a night dive, a wall dive, and the Roatan Marine Park lionfish certification program.

So many things to love about Dive Pangea:

1. They don't rush your dives. My biggest resort dive pet peeve is dive masters who rush their customers through their dives or set a pace that guarantees customers will burn through their air quickly. Not so with Pangea. Chrissie, Anthony and Richie all set the same relaxed pace. They let you go slow, enjoy the dive, notice the small critters, and enjoy the experience. If you can milk your tank for more than an hour, no problem. They won't pressure to surface before you're ready.

2. Integrity. They ran the boat even though I was the only customer. A lot of shops reserve the right to cancel if they don't sell a minimum number of seats. Dive Pangea went out every day the weather permitted, and they had only one other paying customer only one of the days. I doubt they made money on my dives, but they had committed to provide the service and they fulfilled their commitment.

3. Esley (pronounced like the Isley brothers), the boat captain. Friendly and knowledgeable. Knows local waters and conditions extremely well. Quick to understand how much help divers want (or don't want) with their gear. Maintains perfect distance for drift dives--far enough to allow safe surfacing, close enough for prompt retrieval. Exceptionally alert to all phases of the dive operation.

4. Commitment to preserving the reef. Chrissie works closely with the Roatan Marine Park and promotes practices to protect the reef and prevent her customers from damaging it.

5. Outstanding communication and flexibility. Our vacation coincided with some bad weather that affected dive conditions and their facilities. They kept us up to date, made good decisions to cancel when warranted, adapted to the changing circumstances, selected sites my wife could snorkel while I dove, and generally did everything to make sure we had the best experience possible.

6. Just really nice people. Chrissie and her husband Brian are great people to deal with and to be with. We arrived as customers, departed as friends.

I’m very tardy to the party in replying to your review, lol! I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to write such a thorough and thoughtful review. You are right, you guys arrived as guests and departed as friends. 🥰 Thank you for braving Covid travels and discovering Camp Bay and Paya Bay, it truly is a special place here. Thank you for the shout out to the whole team, we are truly blessed to have Esley, Anthony, Teenie and Johnny. Hope to see you guys again soon, and hopefully your sister too!
