I highly recommend Dive Pangea. My family and I dove for 5 days and had a great time. Chrissie, Esley and Anthony were more than great. We stayed next door at the Camp Bay lodge so it could not have been more convenient. A++

My friend and I booked a couple of Dives with Dive Pangea in Camp Bay. The weather was a little windy but since we are both very experienced divers and they are used to windy conditions in the East end they took us out for a couple of morning dives first at McNab's Pinnacles and then to Puma Posse Pass. Both sites were fantastic, service was excellent, the boat captain Esley is a local and I can tell you since I've lived in Roatan for 10 years and have worked with a lot of dive boat captains in my many years as a dive intructor, he is a very skilled operator. Towards the end of the second dive the swells went from 2-4 feet to 4-6 feet. He followed proper proceedure and revved his engine three times signaling us to start our ascent. He skillfully negotiated the boat back to the dock like a man who has lived by the sea his entire life. I can't say enough good things about Dive Pangea. If you want some great diving with a professional team off the beaten track in Roatan, they are your dive shop!

On a recent trip to Camp Bay in Roatan, the winds were a little light for kitesurfing, and so I walked from Camp Bay Lodge to Dive Pangea Roatan, one house away on the beach. Chrissy and Brian, the owners, greeted me and were amazingly hospitable: I gave them no notice, walked up, and scheduled a dive for the next morning. The next morning, I showed up at the designated time and enjoyed two dives all to myself: no other dive boats, no other divers, just the beauty of the place and the expertise of my guide. Antony, a local scuba instructor, was my guide. He notices and points out aquatic life small (microscopic even) and large. In my ~60 dives, I've not encountered someone like Antony, who is able to see and share some of the smallest creatures: e.g., a decorator crab the size of my pinky nail and super camoflaged, Elysia crispata (little sea slugs on the back of leaves), and more. If you dive and want something more secluded than dives on the west side of Roatan, check out Dive Pangea. I can't wait to return. Jess

Hi Jess, Thank you for taking time out to write such a thoughtful and thorough review! We are so glad you enjoyed your dives with Anthony, a/k/a "Los Ojos" (spanish for The Eyes 👀). He definitely has a gift and the passion for finding critters that you would otherwise never know were even there! We hope to see you back in Camp Bay soon!

Just got back from a week of diving with Dive Pangea and had a fantastic time. If you are looking for a small, friendly, family run dive shop then Dive Pangea is for you. Chrissy and Brian are awesome people and very responsive and customer focused. This dive shop is on the East End of Roatan which is why we selected this location; to get away from the crowded dive sites on the West End. Our objective was accomplished. We didn’t see another dive boat when we dove the North side of the island. When we went to the South side we only saw 1 other dive boat. It’s awesome if you like the feeling that the whole island is your own private island. Because of their remoteness your lodging options are limited, however, there are two houses next door to the dive shop you can rent. They are both very nice and a 1-2 minute walk on the beach to the dive shop/boat. I can highly recommend either one — Living Waters (4 bedroom) or Casa del Alma (2 bedrooms). The other thing that made the trip awesome was having a private chef (for only $75/day) that cooked us breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. Our focus for the trip was lionfish hunting and because the dive sites we dove were mostly unnamed sites and therefore seldom, if ever, dove there were plenty of lionfish for us to kill. For the week we killed about 400 of them. The best part besides helping to protect the reef from these voracious predators was that they are awesome to eat. Our chef made us lionfish ceviche everyday (which is my favorite ceviche) as well as lionfish fingers, lionfish soup, grilled lionfish, etc. We ate it a lot but never got tired of it because she made it a different way each day. In summary, if you like diving in small groups at dive sites where you most likely won’t see another dive boat, then this is the place for you.

Outstanding shop and staff! Highly recommend if diving on the east side of Roatan. I logged 10 or 11 dives (including a night dive) with Dive Pangea; Chrissie, Teeny, Anthony, Jonny, Esley and of course little Chris were so great to work with. The dive leaders let you go at your own pace if you want to take things slow and really examine the reef life. Morat wall, Pigeon Cay and Dolphins Den are all extremely memorable dives. Best of all, Chrissie was so easy to work with when planning dives; we were also kitesurfing, and she was really flexible about letting us change dive plans at the last minute if there was good wind. The shop pays close attention to standard and safe diving practice; we always had clear dive briefings and mandatory 3 min stops. The rental BCDs and regs are well maintained and in good condition. Just an outstanding experience!
