This is a must for our family when in Roatan! cannot beat the price and the staff is amazing! We love this place and will continue to go every chance we get! The monkeys and birds and sights are breath taking.
Mayan Eden is a terrific and safe experience! Brian and Christian were our zip line guides! They were so helpful and patient. I was very nervous about the whole thing but once I saw the safety measures they have in place, I felt very relieved....More
Excellent tour of local animals where you get really up close and personal with the monkeys. They are hilarious. Billy the white-face monkey is hilarious, but be careful ladies (he loves to rip off bikini tops). The manager and guide, Brian, is very knowledgeable, attentive,...More
This is the second time we have visited; this time we brought our son who loves animals. Our guide was Jose, who did a great job. He was especially good with the butterflies, which begin the tour. He could spot them all the way across...More

The tour guides were very friendly and personable! They picked us up at our hotel and stayed with us through zip-lining and the animal and history parts of the tour. They allow you to take your time through the tour and visit the animals as...More
Went as a part of a Royal Caribbean cruise our guide was named Kevin and he was absolutely amazing. He interacted amazingly with our tour, but he had a great touch with the animals in the park! He gave great suggestions on where to eat...More
We were taken here by our tour guide (Arnold from Rony's) during our recent port stop aboard the Liberty of the Seas. This is a must visit! The staff is great and the animals are beautiful. Plus, you can feed and hold monkeys if you...More
Been to this wildlife park during our one day trip to Roatan. We were greeted by this wonderful attendant Jose Calderon. He does his work with a passion. He took time to explain everything especially about the butterflies. Showed us the different phases of the...More
I was super apprehensive of bringing my toddlers to a "monkey park" but this sanctuary put my mind at ease as soon as we arrived. We got there in the morning (maybe 10am?) and were the only group there. It was incredibly peaceful and enchanting...More
After we booked our stay in Roatan we immediately knew we wanted to hold sloths! At Mayan Eden we got to hold sloths & monkeys. We fell in love with a cute little baby sloth. We never felt rushed & got to take a ton...More

The zip line is the best part of the park. The animals aren't that spectacular, but were a fun add on after the zip line. I'm not sure I'd put forth the effort to do only the park. The are in cages like a zoo, but they get a lot of them out to show you. They take credit cards at the gate but their machine doesn't always work right, so we had to have cash. US dollar. It's a pretty quick taxi ride to this park. Be advised that the taxi's in port are mostly trying to sell you a tour and they get paid by you and where they take you. They will try and up sale you, most likely. Be firm and assertive and you'll be fine. We did it in a huge group of like 13 that we crammed into a mini-bus-van thing. Made the overall cost lower. If you can arrange to just have a taxi take you, it will cost less. They will want to shove a "tour guide" into the car with you that will cost you more. Especially at the end when they try and guilt you into a tip one for the driver and one for the "guide". I found our guide interesting but also very annoying. She felt like she had to talk non-stop. The taxi driver never talked, so if you want a conversation, get the guide. Some seriously steep roads on that island. The reason we ended up going here, was the ship's excursions all got canceled due to heavy rains and mudslides on a lot of the roads. Even with that we didn't have any trouble getting around. The locals all came out and cleared the roads pretty fast. There are mosquitos at the eco park, so come prepared. I think, time-wise you should be fine. Sorry for the long reply, hope it helps.
Hi All, I've been doing research on ziplining/snorkeling/wildlife tours, and there are a TON of companies out there, which is a bit overwhelming. I'm wary of the ones that cram a bunch of things in a day, and I'm having a hard time weeding out the good ones. I would like to support a place that is truly focused on conservation, education, and the safety and health of the wildlife. We won't be on a cruise ship so we have more than a day. What are the best parks and wildlife centers on...More

Gumbalimba is one of the better choices, There are some cages the big birds sleep in at night or go to for peace but they are free to fly about, often see a few big red Macaws flying aroung this end of the Island and know that's where they are from, the monkeys are also free roaming about the park along with many iguana and watussa , of course they, like most, are for profit but they seem to have it pretty well off
