Blended rums are decent and extremely reasonably priced compared to similar buying showrooms in Central America and the Caribbean. Unless you’re staying on the farm where the rum is made, like Copal Tree Lodge in Belize, you aren’t going to get a whole start-to-finish tour.

The flavored rums, especially chocolate, is easy drinking on the rocks or neat. Rum cakes are definitely most and delicious, especially the coconut flavor. I like that their rum cakes have slightly crystalized sugar, which adds nuanced texture and extra sparks of sweetness.

A woman promptly greeted us from behind the pandemic barrier counter upon entry, guided us with samples, and left to help someone after we confirmed we had no further need of assistance. After that, we selected goods from shelves on our own, without heavy sales pressure.

We went in the afternoon after the cruise visitors had gone back to their ships to pick up things for NYC before going to West End. So it was convenient and took less than 10 minutes to taste, make decisions, and buy.

Love their cakes! I purchased a cake from one of the port vendors in an open air market. I only bought one cake because I had to conserve cash for other things. Now that I'm home I wish I had bought several cakes! It's moist, flavorful, and deliciously sweet. These are small batch cakes so they are not shipped. Get them while you can!

Roatan Rum Company is a must stop in West Bay! Everyone working was very friendly and made sure to let us test taste before we bought. My wife and I both loved the Coconut and Mango Rum (we bought 4 bottles). Rum cakes were also delicious! Views out back are fantastic, all in all put this on your list of places to check out in West Bay, you won't be disappointed!

We went to the Roatan Rum Company while visiting the island on a rainy day. We did the rum cake tasting first. We were so impressed with the cakes! They were awesome and truly the best I’ve had. Next we tasted the rum. Our favorite was the Island Spiced followed closely by the Wandering Spirit. All were great, but those were over the top good. There was even a rum cream. The owner (Frank) took his time with each of us to develop our own flavors of rum from tons of rum infused spices. He helped by blending the perfect amount of each and created our one of a kind rum that we will enjoy with friends when we get back to the states. Come to find out, the guy is a chef and has a huge knowledge of what spices compliment each other and made me feel like a pro making something I’m proud to share. Super nice people and clean! Beautiful location and truly a great experience. I have recommend it to people ever since. Will be on my have to do list for my next trip.

Who doesn't love to try free rum? Right?! On our way back to our hotel resort, my friends and I made a quick stop at the Roatan Rum Company. There we met Frank but I felt like we were old friends. He is such a great guy and very knowledgeable about his product. Being able to try a variety of rums (and rum cakes) opened my tastes buds to rums I didn't think I would care for.

The environment Frank established is simple and easy. There is no rushing about as we are all there to enjoy each others company- and the rum. Also, the view outside is beautiful

I highly recommend this place to any rum lover or anyone willing to try.

We booked a van tour of Roatan from our Carnival cruise ship. Our guide took us here as one of our stops. The outside was not much to speak of but once you got inside, it was clean and very organized. You could walk around and ask questions of the staff. Once you go through the store and on to their patio, you are overcome with the gorgeous view of the ocean. There is a small bar where you can order a drink and chat with the bartender who turns out was also the owner. Frank we learned was originally from Ontario and so are we so we had lots to talk about. Very knowledgeable about his product and more than happy to mix you a drink with your favorite rum or even a cold beer for a nominal charge. A great place to spend some time to browse, sample and buy.

My wife and I stopped by on recommendations from locals who loved the chocolate rum.
The ladies that helped us sample the rum and cakes were super friendly & welcoming.
We really liked the Wondering Spirit Run and Coconut Rum cake.
Before buying, we went out on their lovely back deck and enjoyed some drinks and wonderful view.

While there, we had the pleasure of meeting Michaeleen & Frank who were serving drinks on the deck area & turned out to be the owners.

They were amazingly friendly and funny.
They had us laughing, while sharing good tips about the island.

They are passionate about their craft and love sharing the fruits of their labor with everyone.

We were so happy to meet them and to be introduced to their wares.
We look forward to returning to Roatan to see them again and get more of the wonderful rum & cake!

Thank you so much for sharing your passion!

Buyer BEWARE!!!! If you're in the duty free shop in Mahogany Bay, and are wanting to purchase authentic Roatan rum, made in Roatan, then look for the label that says Roatan Rum Company. They only have the mango flavor left in the shop and I suspect when that's gone there won't be ANY rum there that's actually made in Roatan. All the rum with the square label (see pics) is produced in Florida. Cape Spirits Inc. is located in Coral Gables Florida. When I asked if it was made in Roatan, they told me it was. How disappointing it would be to get home with what you thought was authentic Roatan rum, only to find out it was made in Florida.😡 We took an island tour which was only a little more than just going to the rum factory. We saw the island and bought some authentic rum , made in Roatan. Go see Frank, the owner of the Roatan Rum Company, and get yourself some REAL Roatan Rum. You can sample every flavor there and trust me, it's all fantastic.

I was invited to make my own flavor of rum by Chef Frank, the owner. Everyone that worked there were very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the home made rum cake and bought a couple of their infused rum and coffee cigars.
I highly recommend visiting the factory and if you have chance say hi to Chef Frank and his wife Mickie and hopefully their beautiful dog Lucky.
Thank you for making my wife Ellie and I fill so welcome and I will come back and see them.

This was an unexpected stop for us that our driver suggested. It turned out to be a fun one! The rum is really good and the rum cake is fantastic! It is a quick stop, really you can see and try it all in about 20 minutes. Free samples of all their rum flavours and rum cake. We bought a bottle of dark chocolate rum and a couple cakes to bring home. Very nice staff as well!
