We chose to take a guided tour of the lettuce farm and conservatory, and a guided hike. It was a great way to spend an afternoon away from the crowds. The conservatory was beautiful and well-kept with many native plantings. The hydroponic farm was very impressive in its size and our guides Dean and Josiany were very knowledgeable. There were great island views from numerous spots along the somewhat strenuous hike - good shoes and water are a must, but you can rest as needed and enjoy the views. The tours and hike took about 3 hours, but there was one section of the trail we couldn't do because of recent rain. We will probably go back again for both the hike and the gardens in a couple years.

This is a great place to visit and see some of the horticultural aspects of the island. We did try and found that they are currently closed for maintenance. A quick call and we determined that they were, in fact, temporarily closed, possibly until November. Don't be afraid to call and they do keep their website up to date, as well.

We did the guided tour of the hydroponic greenhouse ($8 per person + tax, about 20 minutes long) and the conservatory (another $17 per person + tax, also about 20 minutes long) as well as the 2 self guided hikes ($8 per person + tax). The tours were interesting and they gave us some little samples of fruit from trees in the conservatory, but for the time they took and the level of information they gave we thought the prices were a bit steep. The hikes were nothing to write home about - it's just 2 loops of weed-whacked pathway up and down some little hills and through some trees. There's an OK view of the ocean from one of them, but no particularly spectacular scenery, no signs with information about the vegetation or history or anything. Since they charge an additional fee to do them we would have expected something a little more impressive. Overall, for over $60 for 2 people we didn't think it was worth the price.

The gardens are lovely. A nice size to enjoy a stroll around. There are waterways, with ducks and geese. Humming birds can be seen too. Other animals can be seen too.

This attraction is very interesting and you do learn a lot about medicinal and eatable plants. Nice walk through beautiful gardens with waterways and conservatory. Also fun to see the hydroponic operations as the island depends on the crops grown here.
