This is a great place to visit and see some of the horticultural aspects of the island. We did try and found that they are currently closed for maintenance. A quick call and we determined that they were, in fact, temporarily closed, possibly until November. Don't be afraid to call and they do keep their website up to date, as... More

We did the guided tour of the hydroponic greenhouse ($8 per person + tax, about 20 minutes long) and the conservatory (another $17 per person + tax, also about 20 minutes long) as well as the 2 self guided hikes ($8 per person + tax). The tours were interesting and they gave us some little samples of fruit from trees... More

The gardens are lovely. A nice size to enjoy a stroll around. There are waterways, with ducks and geese. Humming birds can be seen too. Other animals can be seen too.

This attraction is very interesting and you do learn a lot about medicinal and eatable plants. Nice walk through beautiful gardens with waterways and conservatory. Also fun to see the hydroponic operations as the island depends on the crops grown here.

Lot's of different tropical plants and good variety of local animals. Lettuce growing facility was amazing as they provide all the lettuce for the restaurants and local stores. Very friendly staff.

Our visit to the arboretum was one of our favorite afternoons during our two week stay. We waited for the cruise ship tours to finish and took a guided tour of both the gardens and the hydroponic lettuce growing. We had eaten the lettuce and it was delicious so we researched the origin and found the arboretum. We highly recommend... More

We visited on a rainy day and it was still a great visit. Very friendly people and interesting grounds, We only regret not having more time to spend here or taking a guided tour. We would definitely recommend that. If you are on a cruise they have a shuttle to pick you up at either port in Roatan.

We so enjoyed our afternoon trip to the botanical gardens. If you are a horticulturist or just love gardening, this is the place for you to see! We even got to eat fruit samples from many of the trees that we had not heard of before.

We've been to Roatan several times and each time we hear about the 'lettuce farm' - all the resorts and restaurants have great fresh salads. The greens that are used in the salads are grown locally on the island at "the lettuce farm". The Blue Harbor Tropical Arboretum is the lettuce farm and much more. ... On our trip this... More
