An awesome snorkeling adventure at the depth of a swimming pool. The Bay Islands Underwater Museum will take you on a guided snorkel tour of one of the most beautiful reefs in the Caribbean and so much more! Discover Mayan artifacts, a Spanish Galleon ship wreck and the Treasure Chest. See the traditional lobster and conch fishing gear used by the Garifuna people. This is fun for the whole family. The Bay Islands Underwater Museum is an experience you will never forget. Don´t forget to bring cash for beberages and our famous Enzo Pepperoni Pizza, cooked in our adobe mud oven! Birng a towel and beach foot wear for walking on the sand and dock area. All snorkling gear, boat transportation to the site from our dock and a briefing about the museum are included. You will have the best local guides to show you the reef and the marine life!

The underwater museum makes for a great family attraction. You don't have to get wet to experience what lies beneath the surface.

We stumbled upon the museum during a day trip and are so glad we did. Though small, it is very well put together, informative, and professional. We learned history and relevance which is always a good thing. Strongly recommend for an hour stop. Easy parking,...More

Nice, clear water, calm and a good place to learn to snorkel. All equipment is included in the price. The underwater artifacts were interesting and the guides were very helpful. It was a good experience for my daughter who had never snorkeled before.

We had a very nice day with good weather. The guides were Sam and Carlos who were very attentive to the small group of 9. The museum was more of an underwater feature representing the history of the area. The guides were great about pointing...More

Don't go if there is any chance the water visibility is low. It was a beautiful day on the beach but because of the weather the previous weeks the water was to rough to get good views of the museum. The tour guides though were...More

This is a good choice for amateur snorkelers. We had kind of a big group, which made it difficult to swim in a group to follow the guides. However the coral is low enough down that you can swim around some on your own, as...More

Now technically closed but still easy to get to. The place that owed it closed recently and is now a dive company. However, if you have access to a boat, you can get there easy enough. Also, if you happen to stay at Hobbies Hidaway,...More

We did the underwater museum while visiting the area on a cruise. The museum was average but the coral and reef were amazing! The sunken replica artifacts were neat to see but the reef and fish were what made it worth while. The beach after...More

I am a scuba diver, but had a blast checking out the cheeky underwater museum by snorkle. Great excursion for kids as well. The atmosphere on the beach with the "Gilligans Island style" bar is awesome for a photo shoot! Bring your sunscreen, your own...More

First, a disclaimer: I have not paid the fee and actually done the Underwater Museum tour. I have often stayed nearby and have snorkeled the "museum" independently several times. I've observed the tour groups but not actually interacted with the staff. I assume a lot...More
