We are PADI 5 Star Dive Center and Green Star Award Winner located on the north side of Roatan, Honduras, at Turquoise Bay Resort catering to multiple hotels, vacation rental homes and cruise ship visitors. We offer scuba diving and lessons, snorkeling, kayaking and other water sports as weekly packages or day excursions. Enjoy diving or snorkeling on our private dive sites. Only a short boat ride away you find amazing dive/snorkel sites with drop offs, canyons, swim throughs and the Caribbean's biggest variety of coral and sponges. PADI Divemasters guide all dives. I am a SCUBA instructor and have been diving for nearly 30 years. I have been out with many dive operators over the years and can say without hesitation that Subway Water Sports is a top notch operation under the guidance of Daren Ebanks and his veteran team of captains and dive masters. I had a great time diving with Osman and Miguel during my two week stay. I highly recommend diving with this group of outstanding professionals even if not staying at Turquoise Bay Resort. I also got to watch some of their IDC and Dive Master training which was to a very high standard and I would recommend them highly to anyone looking to become a diving professional.

The Dive Shop/Operation. Where does one begin?! As a non-snorkeler and non-diver, just along for the sun and fun, I had no idea what this type of operation was all about and I wasn't sure I cared. I reluctantly went to the diver debriefing. Never in a million would I have thought anyone could change my mind about trying to snorkel or dive...I think it took about five minutes and Daren had (unknowingly) changed my mind. While I still don't believe his claim that diving is the safest sport in the world (I'm thinking golf may take that title) I was convinced of the confidence he had in every member of his staff to provide world class service - safe, knowledgeable, caring and ready to make sure every diver, no matter the experience was exactly what they wanted.
Each day I was welcomed aboard the dive boat encouraged to snorkel. By the end of the week in the pool and off the dive boat learning what the magic of diving was all about.
Every member of the dive operation team went above and beyond and made the week in Roatan both in and out of the water perfect. This magical experience that happened because of the entire staff. Forever grateful.

We have been staying at Turquoise Bay Resort and diving with Subway Watersports for years. They offer 3 dives a day with a night dive once a week. . The staff will take your BC and regulator from the locker and set it up on the boat before you arrive and rinse them and put them back in your locker after you finish diving for the day. We have been diving with Osmon and Duvan for years. Osmon has been diving in Roatan almost forever and trained Duvan who is now an excellent divemaster himself. The others seem to be equally great. Dives are 60 minutes so you get ample bottom time. Nitrox is available and worth the extra cost so you can do three 60 minute dives a day. Tanks were always full. There are camera rinse tanks on the boats. The boats were not crowded, 9 divers with 2 divemasters. The dive sites are all close and there are rarely other boats in the area. There is water and fruit between dives. Subway also gets cruise ship divers and snorkelers but they are usually less competent divers and are put on different boats.
After the 2 morning dives,, you can take a quick dip it the pool, have time for the buffet lunch and get back on the boat for the afternoon dive. You are back in time for another dip in the pool, a beverage and afternoon snacks at 4:30.
One day a week they do a 3 tank dive to West Bay. They will dive one of the wrecks and then a site where we always see turtles. We go the Mayan Princess in West Bay, a sister resort, for lunch and do another dive with turtles on the way back. If the weather is bad on the North side of the Island (where the resort is located) they will take you to the South side where they have another dock so you are unlikely to miss a dive because of weather.
During the pandemic, they made the old locker room into an air conditioned classroom and added bathrooms. They added new locker rooms on the dock. In addition to the rinse tanks on the dock, there are two nice fresh water showers.

We are a couple who dove with Subway for a week long visit. We loved everything about this shop and the diving. Pedro was our boat captain and Nelson was our dive master. We have never experienced having the same people each day. We loved it! Pedro could not have been more helpful and we learned a great deal from Nelson.
The dive sites were beautiful and we ALWAYS saw what Nelson told us we would (turtles, rays, etc).
The water was pretty calm and there was no current. The diving was so relaxed that we were able to work on our skills and become better. If you are thinking of booking here, just do it. You will have no regrets.

A group of 12 of us with all skill levels, from dive masters to beginners had an awesome experience with Subway Watersports. Being one of the beginners and this being my first international dive trip, I could not have asked for a better experience. The staff at Subway were fantastic, in particular, our dive masters Osman and Duvin, and boat captain Billy. These guys were professional and fantastic! Not only did they take us to great dive sites with amazing sea life, they were so friendly, attentive and FUN! They were great about tailoring the dives for us all, such as taking those certified lion fish hunting, pointing out all types of amazing things, took us through amazing swim throughs, and made me feel safe on my first night dive, as well as sending someone to accompany us on a shark dive to continue the valet diving experience. The renovated areas with lockers were so nice and made for easy gear storage. I would highly recommend Subway Watersports to anyone looking to dive in Roatan. Thank You! No doubt we will be back to visit our new friends here again.

My friend and I did our open water elsewhere a few years back and did not come through that experience with confidence in diving. We came to Roatan hoping to have a positive experience that would ignite our untapped love for diving. That is indeed what we got, and more. From the moment we walked in the door, we were met with gentleness, strength and skilled divers who helped us navigate through a refresher course and 4 dives in the ocean. The dive instructors were passionate about their love for diving and also created the safest environment possible. A big shout out to Artero, Kyle, Dan for the patience, skill and kindness and also a big thanks to Liber, Peter and the admin staff--Holly and Angelina for being present on our journey. We hope to visit again and would definitely want to spend more time with this enthusiastic bunch of people who clearly love what they do.

Having spent decades diving, I have an educated perspective on dive operations. And let's face it folks, each dive shop looks great "in the pictures". This is a very well run dive operation with top notch facilities and dive masters. Divers are given a generous sized locker, with excellent ventilation and drainage. Super close rinse tanks for Gear, Cameras and Wetsuits. All SUPER close to the boats. READ: Really great layout.
Personnel clearly know the reef, and want you to have a great time. Its been years since a dive operation actually tracked my dive depths and times, and logged it each day. You can count on them going out of their way to ensure you have a enjoyable adventure. If you can get them, ask for Eddie and Osmond Junior. Both grew up on the island, and know the reef extremely well.
Owning several boats, its clear these boats are well maintained. Diesel engines didn't belch smoke, decks are clean and freshly painted. Our captain's (Pedro) knowledge of the reef was incredible.
No, I'm not a paid endorser. Just a long time diver who knows a good operation when they see it. Dive safe...

I was so, SO impressed with Subway Watersports. The dive staff is professional, extremely accommodating, attentive, and the best at what they do. Very skilled and customer-service oriented. Bob, Nelson, Arturo, Eddie, Osmund, Darren, Captain Bruce, and Trip were a pleasure to work and dive with.
I dove 16 times with them and it was definitely the best diving I've done. We saw everything from eagle rays to colorful fish to dolphins to hammerheads. You will not be disappointed diving in Roatan!

Love this place! The diving in Roatan is already awesome, what makes Subway great are the staff! Darren and the girls in the shop are super helpful! Bob is friendly and does a great job of welcoming new divers. Pedro and billy were the amazing captains i got to dive with, but Estevan was also skillfully taking out dive groups! Miguel, Osman, Osman Jr, and Duvin were great guides. They got all our gear set up, took excellent care of us, and showed us all the best things (turtles, wrecks, seahorses, etc). I cannot say enough about these guys! Everyone was amazing, but these are the names I remember! Luis and Bob made some excellent videos for the divers. You should definitely book with this crew! They have fun and love their jobs. Pedro even met my friends and me on the road while we were riding scooters; he showed us Punta Gorda (his hometown) and introduced us to his beautiful sister who has a wonderful bar. I would dive with them again and again and again!

Had an amazing time getting my Advanced Open Water and Enriched Air certifications this week with Isaac as my instructor. I hadn’t been diving in many years and he definitely took the time to make sure my gear and knowledge had me set up for success in the water! He picked out incredible dive sites they were never crowded and made sure to go over the slate requirements before each dive to prep me and while he offered to set up my gear he was willing to supervise so I got as much hands on experience as possible. During the dives in addition to completing slate requirements, teaching me to use my dive computer and going through hand signals he pointed out a lot of sea life and identified it for me sometimes having to remind me that I had a camera to capture the moment. I would definitely love to get him as an instructor again when I’m ready to get some more certifications or as a guide on future dives!

You can either sign up for a dive package in advance or simply dive with us day to day if you don't want to commit to three dives a day in advance of your trip. We do highly recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure availability. Hello, yes, there is a class put on by the Roatan Marine Park for obtaining your lion fish hunting licence. The cost is $50/person and includes your spear, which you can keep at the end of your week or return to the Marine Park for a $10 refund. This is something that needs to be organized in advance and there is a minimum of four participants required.
