A lovely public plaza to watch people in their element. Everyone seems to be here enjoying the space that is filled with monuments, lots of trees and is surrounded by lovely architecture. I bought a coffee across the street and read my book for hours...More

Well, if you are already in Quetzaltenango it's worth taking a walk to the Central Plaza. Sunday is the best day because traffic and congestion are about 50% less. Be careful at curbs and remember when crossing streets in Xela that drivers do not care...More

It is a bit noisy and dirty. But a lot more clean than the average Guatemalan city. When there are markets, there is a lot of good street food

It is what it is, not really a destination point. A large Catholic church dominates one side of the park, businesses and market are on the other sides. Nothing really stands out as unique or significant here.

I really like this plaza and I run around it in the morning. There's also a cool bridge, with lots of steps to run - 2 blocks away. :) The cathedral is interesting, as well as the buildings around it. Even McDonald's is in a...More

This place is good spot to absorb the City of Xela. Plenty of foot traffic so great place to people watch. Also, many food options around. There's a local street food scene for cheap eats and equally good.
