This February and March I did two treks with this comapany. I highly recommend their tour company. the first hike I did was from nebaj to Todos Santos and it was very incredible and interesting and challenging. A unique experience. The second was from xela to lake atitlan. Our guide, will, was incredibly informative and kind. Its awesome to go with Spanish speaking guides in this local company. I highly recommend.

Most travelers go with Quetzal Trekkers and join a group of 10-20 English speaking backpackers. We decided to book with Kaqchickel and were so happy with our decision. It was me, my girlfriend, and Eduardo, the owner of the company and a legend here in the guide community. The trek was varied, interesting, and we ate incredible local food in the family homes we passed through. Better food (and vegetarian) than any long-distance trek we’ve done in other parts of the world. All along the way, this company shows great respect for the land, its communities, and the guests who are visiting. Plus, everything was in Spanish so it’s great practice and you’ll feel more connected to Guatemalan culture. Highly recommend going with Kaqchickel Tours! Do the Temescal bath if you get a chance, it’s so worth it.

I did the tajamulco overnight hike with 2 friends and Eduardo as our guide. He was super friendly and helpful. Great food compared to some other hikes I've done. I would highly recommend Eduardo, he's a local and been a guide for over 20 years! Amazing trip! Support the locals!

I highly recommend this company! It's a family owned business that began with Eduardo and now some of his children are guides, too! From the moment I stepped in his office, Eduardo was great! He answered all of the questions that I had and made me feel at ease about the trek. He ended up actually being our guide for the trek as well, which was great. We had him and Verta, a guide in training. Both were absolutely wonderful and took care of us the entire trek. I will hike again with them if ever I return to Xela!

I did the 2-day trip to Tajumulco with Eduardo and Josue and the half day trip to Santa Maria with Eduardo and to me it was a very good experience. Eduardo is very, very friendly and experienced. His son is a nice guy too. I highly recommend them.
