About
La Galeria celebrates the arts as a whole and provides at the same time a center for local and international artists. We sell a vast range of art work at attractive prices, rare and fine art pieces for collectors as well as unique frames of our own design. The building, a piece of art in itself is located in the heart of Panajachel. Since 1973 we also organize community events, concerts, theatre, cabaret, art movies etc. Our additional show of unique folk art began in the 1920s and continues to this day. Come by for an excellent cup of cappuccino or espresso and get inspired.House recommendations: Cappuccino -

Ignored

This is a multi purpose place. The building has an art gallery, yoga, art classes? It is unusual with 1930’s type rusted cars in the garden. We walked in and all 3 people there ignored us.

Just a short distance from the lake

Founded by a German immigrant in ( I think) 1926. It is a place for artists to stay and sell their works. Plus, the collection of objects on display are very interesting, most are quite old, statues, religious items and pottery from early 20th century Guatemala. And an art gallery.

I bought a painting each time I came here 25 years ago and again his time. Tomas and Sabina are just very nice people. They are supportive of the artists of the area. This is a very amazing place to visit.

it is an Art Gallery and cafe. it has a permanent exhibit of a great
Guatemala Artist, her name is Nan, born in Guatemala, moved to Germany, married there, had children, came backto Guatemala and she has painted some beatiful pictures which are shown in the Gallery.
Here son Thomas, her daughter-in-law and their son take care
of the Gallery, in which also they have some concerts of classical and non classical music, different performers.
on weekends they also serve pancakes breakfasts, during the week there is also a cafe/tea area. i believe it is closed on wednesdays. It is a very interesting place to visit and lppk at the art from NAN. worthwhile, you will not be dissapointed

Interesting art and artefacts by the owner' mother collected by his father. Other artists work as well. Also is a venue for sound healing, etc. Worth a visit.

Such a spiritual place

Once you enter La Galeria as part of an interestingly styled house the noise and stress of Panachachel redraws and you feel the ambiance of art and relaxation. You can study (and buy) the wonderful masterpieces of Mayan and European artists. Prints at affordable prices are available of the greatest artist of this region: Nan Cuz. Let Thomas and Sabine, the knowledgeable owners of the gallery show you around and explain the art. If you are lucky they invite you for an espresso and you can explore the inner gardens and galleries. On certain occasions concerts are being organized and on Sunday you can find a small farmers market and a delicious brunch. It is such a pleasant place; don’t miss it once you are at the Lake.

A Unique Gallery
Jan 2018 • Friends
Besides being a nice art gallery, the owners have also collected many wonderful artifacts through the years. The story about the featured artist, Nan Cuz, is quite interesting, and they also have a pancake breakfast on Sundays that is quite good. During my visit to Panajachel, I enjoyed a yoga class at the gallery three mornings a week. It's an interesting place to visit.

Sunday Brunch
Feb 2018 • Couples
We had stopped by one day to look at the art. Charming gallery amidst gardens that are free flowing and quaint. But the charm of the place was Thomas - the owner. His background is an interesting mix and family stories back up Germany 1930’s. The highlight is Sunday Brunch. Delicious. Simple. The place does not try to impress - and in turn, is authentic and yes, impressive. We love the easy comfort and friendliness.
