Cosy hotel with amazing garden
Oct 2021 • Couples
Stayed here for three nights. Should have booked more. The hotel itself with all the details in that amazing garden takes at least a day to explore and admire. The staff was very friendly, food okay, hotel cosy with excellent location.
The lake, it’s villages and volcanos offer so much to do and explore. There’s a very nice national park next to the hotel.
Lake itself might survive, if the people learn to take care of the wastewater. And it seems there’s some actions taken and hope exists.
Would have been better, if the two monster hotels pretty close to this hotel would not have been built there, but this is Guatemala.

Spectacular
Dec 2019
The gardens are amazing here and it is considered the number 1 thing to do at the lake. There are roses everywhere. I spoke to the hotel owner and she said that the roses are pruned twice a year and I did she an area with a lot of fertilizer. The owner collects flowers from where she goes and brings them back to plant. There are hundreds of species around along with birds, macaws, ducks, and other animals. There really is no beach here even thought there are steps down to the water. It takes 16 gardeners to maintain the property. Be careful when they decide to use the sprinklers. The gardenias smell awesome.

Stunning gardens.
Oct 2019 • Solo
I read that this hotel was previously a coffee plantation; it's absolutely stunning. The grounds run from the front of the hotel all the way to the front of the apartments. There are flowers I have never seen before, a pond and water features. There were various birds, I noted a talking parrot and a toucan as well other caged birds.

Wonderful tranquil grounds. Could have explored for hours.

Beautiful

Absolutely beautiful. Includes a reserve for exotic birds and koi pond. Part of the gardens cascades down to the lake making for impressive scenery. The sculpting of the gardens was beautifully done.

You can spend many hours enjoying these beautifully tended gardens with gorgeous trees & bushes which attract many types of hummingbirds, and watch the frogs/toads in the little pond

Beautiful Gardens!
Jul 2019 • Friends
If you are staying in Panajachel, this is worth a visit. IMPORTANT - when you arrive at the gate to the hotel, tell the guard you want a ticket to see the gardens. He will give you a slip of paper that costs 70Q. After seeing the gardens, go to the restaurant and order something that is >= 70Q. (I can't remember if we paid at front desk or the restaurant.)

The first time our group asked the guard about seeing the gardens, he shooed us away. The second time he said, "Oh yeah, take this slip of paper to the front desk."
