We booked a scuba session in Lake Atitlan during our honeymoon. While my husband had scuba experience, this was my first time. We were the only two people that day. The instructor was excellent. He was very focused on safety and took time to make sure we understood everything. We did a discover scuba dive. He fitted us with the scuba equipment, then we went out on a boat and got into the water. We dove along a hotel with underwater balconies. He controlled my BCD and stayed with me during the dive. I was actually recovering from a sinus infection and had a hard time equalizing. He did not push me farther than I could go which I really appreciated. He stopped the decent and we explored along the wall a bit shallower than intended. Afterwards, he said that we really did not miss out seeing anything different and that there was no point in going deeper if it was painful. We saw some small fish, crabs, and snails along the volcanic rock wall and the hotel balcony. The lake water was murky so we could only see a short ways. It was mainly about the experience of scuba diving in Guatemala for us. We would definitely recommend this activity!

Since I have got spare time with the actual situation. I have decided to write down a review because Sebastian definitely deserved it. Indeed he made me understand the importance of balance in diving and how to be able to handle it. I gave him a lot of credit for that reason and I am really thankful for what he taught me last September 2019. Diving in such a special environment definitely made this experience unique ! Thank you Sebastian !

After diving for over 15 years, this dive had a lot of firsts: first fresh water, first cold water, first volcanic crater :) It was a great experience! Jorge was very accommodating and got me in the water despite competing schedules. He was also very safety conscious, explaining all procedures and making the group feel super prepared for diving at high altitudes. Would highly recommend Ati!
