I used them to book a 10 Days / 9 Nights (2 Persons) trip to various parts of Guatemala. I needed some changes to their tour and they were easy to work with. The transportation and hotel was easy since they handle all that, we just had to be ready for pick up every morning by the time we were given and the car/tour guide was ready to go. I did not feel rushed with our tour guides. At some points of the trip we were not joined by other people so that was cool. Depending on were you are, there is a chance of having different tour guides but for most of our trip we had Davis. He was very knowledgable and suggested areas to visit based on our interests. I would use them again and this time I'd be more comfortable asking for more tailoring, I combined two of their packages this time. I also found it easier to communicate via WhatsApp, which is highly used in the country, but I was also receiving confirmation via email. The one thing I wish they would do better is the recommendations for how to prep for the events that will be happening, for example they day we went to Semuc, we were not told we should bring a lock for the lockers to leave our clothes while we swam, we were not told there would be lockers at all. We also brought regular shoes besides water shoes because there is a hike to get there.We only did that because the hotel person was talking to us about it. If you use them ask for more of those types of details and you'll have a better experience. If you like to travel light, it is hard to get laundry done when you are moving from town to town almost every day so keep that in mind. They book the rooms for you but if you need to avoid stairs let them know, many places don't have elevators.

Marcia at Guatemalan Adventure travel set up a tour to pick us up at the airport in Guatemala city and take us to Antigua, included a walking tour then transport to Panajchel and boat transport to San Lucas Toliman. We had a great time on the walking tour, our guide spoke English and knew the area well. The next day we had a nice day with Raol as he took us to lunch in Katok then to Panajchel to get a boat to our final destination. Really easy set up and at a fair price too, thanks!

My wife and I have been on a private tour, but used Guatemalan Adventure for all our internal travel. This was Airport to Antigua, Antigua to Lake Atitlan, and Lake Atitlan to Guatemala City. All three transfers were perfect.
The driver was early on each occasion and delivered us safely to our destination. The quality, comfort and cleanliness of the vehicles were first class.
The bookings were made on line from Australia and the travel consultant Eva provided prompt and efficient email communication which gave me comfort I was dealing with a professional company. Thoroughly recommended.

Do not trust this travel agent. We ha a terrible experience. After booking a small bus with driver, we had to cancel due to Covid19 pandemia. The downpayment was 50 percent at time of booking, but the penalty for cancelling was just 20 percent. The travel agent should have refunded us 30 percent, but they are not even answering the mails since weeks.
We are very disappointed. The agency is taking profit from the drama we are living and not offering any sort of solution. Not even bothering to answer.
You can not trust anyone who behaves like thus.

Pros:
1. Travel agent arrange the hotels and transportation so you save a lot of time figure out how to move from one place to another and where to stay.
2. Tour guide has tremendous amount the local knowledge so it's very delightful to listen to those stories
3. The schedule is pretty loose. Half day with tour guide. Half day you can explore by yourself
Cons:
1. Tour guide spent too much time in shopping. I felt pressured to buy something
2. There is a limited to visit a place, can't stay at one place if you really want

We flew in from London and had Guatemala Adventures put together a bespoke 14 day trip for us which we then modified several times with them, which they were happy to do.
Our email and then Whatsapp communication was excellent, our drivers, guides and vehicles (except one) clean and in good condition and we had a wonderful holiday. This despite the fact that our El Mirador helicopter flight got cancelled due to it having to have a service a few days before we were to fly on it. The agency kept us informed, provided several alternative trips (at their own expense) and re-imbursed us the cancelled helicopter flights promptly.
We can highly recommend Guatemala Adventure for their professionalism and especially would like to thank Lorenn for always being on call and for looking after us.

This was our first time booking a week long tour with Guatemalan Adventure and let me tell you they did not disappoint! The tour guide was fantastic, extremely knowledgable, respectful and courteous. Toward the end of our trip my husband and daughter tested positive for COVID which meant that they would have to quarantine in Guatemala city until they test negative. The tour operators and specifically Lorenn Hernandez went out of her way to make sure and check in with them daily and provided them with transportation to and from the testing site. It was certainly not something she was required to do. Her kindness and overall professionalism gave my husband and daughter peace of mind knowing that they have someone to turn to. I would highly recommend Guatemalan Adventure for it's true commitment to customer service.

I had the pleasure to take 5-day trips with Guatemalan Adventure and all were excellent. The driver and the guide arrived on time and the trips were very well planned. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and were eager to answer all the questions I had. The trips went as planned and there no glitches. All the drivers in all the trips were also very safe and professional drivers. The car for each of the trips was also very nice and well equipped for the trip. I would like to mention Mike the tour guide for his excellent presentation. I would also like to give a big applause for Henery who drove me a couple of times and the service was excellent.
This review would be incomplete if I don't mention their customer service specifically Loren Hernandez. She is excellent at what she does. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone planning a visit to Guatemala.

When it comes to choosing a travel provider in Guatemala, look no further than Guatemalan Adventure Travel. We asked this company to organize a 10 day trip through Guatemala with a focus on the Mayan Civilization and the country’s history and natural beauty. From the moment we arrived in Guatemala City until the end of our trip we were met the the best of professional drivers and tour guides. All were friendly, understanding and professional. We do not speak Spanish, but all of communications with them were in English and we were easily understood as were they. Guatemalan Adventure took us to Guatemala City, to the Copan Mayan ruins in Honduras, to Antigua Guatemala, Lake Atitlan, and the Mayan ruins of Tikal, Iximche, and Yaxha. Guatemalan Adventure recommended hotels for us and they were all as described and uniformly great! Our daily itinerary included pickup times and all of our drivers and guides came exactly when expected. The trip could not have been better planned or better executed. We have traveled all over the world and used travel agency services in multiple countries. Guatemalan Adventure Travel was as good as any and better than most. We could not recommend them more highly.

Great trip.
Guatemalan Adventures was well organized from start to finish. We were kept informed at all times even with changes during the day for flight plans and required changes to logistics of driver pickups. Our first day adventure required an early pickup in Ixtapa for a transfer to the Guatemala city airport. A half day tour was organized for Antigua which was fantastic. We can't recommend Davis our guide and driver highly enough. He was a fountain of knowledge and knew everywhere to go. We saw the highlights of Antigua and our favorite was a Coffee co-op with a restaurant where we sat on the terrace drinking coffee watching the Fuere volcano puffing smoke and listening to the sonic booms from the events. We then traveled to Flores in northern Guatemala to visit the Mayan ruins at Tikal. Our guide Luis was extremely well informed and organized our tour to fit the conditions from sunrise to the fog which precluded good pictures in the early morning and getting us good pictures later in the day yet we were able to finish by noon when temperatures hit 100 degrees F. Lorenn in the office had everything extremely well organized for logistics and covered our flight change in the middle of the trip. We were very happy using Guatemala Adventure for our tours.

Hello, do you offer any overnight trips to Acatenago by ATV? We won't have time to acclimate before the trip so we are hoping to atv instead of hike.

Looking to hike solo on Nov 12. I have a frivolous question: will we be able to roast marshmallows when we hike the volcano? I'm glad a bottle of water is included, but was curious about that. Also, where can I get pickup in Antigua? And can I bring a small knapsack on the hike?
