I recently attended a production by the Swamp Gravy Players entitled "Women of the Bible - Through Their Eyes". The theater is beautiful, and the acoustics are very good for such an old venue. The ladies were wearing microphones, and every word they spoke or sang was easily heard and understood. It was a very enjoyable evening.

Wow - amazing theatre - refurbished. Old plush carpet and curtains. Happened upon theatre while walking around town during a stop on the SAM Shortline Excursion Train tour. A nice place to see what the "theatre" was like in its hay day.

We happened upon Americus while searching for lodging before visiting nearby Andersonville NHM. We were directed to a beautiful restored hotel and from here learned of the City having it's first "First Friday" art and community exhibit. We were referred to the Rylander Hotel and received a personal tour by the manager of the property. This beautiful old theater is... More

We stopped here during our visit to Americus. There was some type of recital that evening but they let us self tour. Such a gem, not much goes on here, you would think it would have shows/movies/ events at least monthly.

The Rylander Theatre is a historical stop when in southwest Georgia. There is a lot of history at the theatre.

It only took a few minutes to see the theatre, however, you can get a tour if you like. It was nice to see a grand theatre of old. So much more character than theatres today.

This theatre, restored around 2001, is a little jewel. It's quite beautiful. We were attending a Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation meeting and had the treat of hearing the organist play the theatre's organ. It rises from the floor just like at the Fox!

I had the opportunity to see a show here while on a little vacation. I always try to go to local theater productions and experience some of the beautiful theaters that need our support. check this one out!

I've been to the Rylander several times for different events, it's a beautiful attraction in itself. They've hosted Beauty Pageants, Dance Recitals, and Annie Plays (for many years) that I've attended. The employees were friendly, the restroom (women's, don't know about the men's) were very clean, and the coffee shop is an added attraction.

There were no official tours but an actor happened to be there and showed us around. He even took our picture and we really had a good time.
