Totally Worth a Stop
Mar 2021
My family and I stopped here for a visit in March 2021. We thoroughly enjoyed the site, even without a guide, as we read up on it prior to visiting. It may not be the same as having a guide, but it is much less expensive. We were the only visitors, which definitely enhanced the experience. It is easy to combine this site with Lubaantun. My two teenagers also thought the ruins were interesting.

Have a good guide
Dec 2020
Your guide will make the difference. The interior part was closed due to the virus, so that was disappointing. The grounds were very clean and the restrooms very clean. They are ruins, so unless you are an expert on Mayan culture and history, your guide will make or break your trip.

Suprized by its Awesomeness!!!
Mar 2020
Had a last minute change in our cruise plans and decided to go on this Mayan ruins tour. We took an airconditioned bus ride for about 45 mins with our guide, Juana a Mayan descendent, was great and did a wonderful job explaining Belize history and Mayan history. The site was awesome and the guides there were also wonderful. Lunch was chicken with rice & beans and plantans, simple and deleicious. I would recommend this trip to others.

Wonderful Mayan ruins
Nov 2019
We took a ship tour with a ferry to the mainland from Harvest Caye and then one hour by bus. The guides, Nate and Felix, descendants of the Mayans, were very knowledgeable and told us lots on the way. The drive was easy with little traffic. Felix told us the people use BMWs (Better Me Walk). Beautiful jungle paths through the site and a museum showing artifacts from the site.

Regal ruins.

Home to royals. And it still feels royal. Beautiful and regal ruins, definitely worth stopping for. And searching out! The guides are knowledgeable so ask them questions.

A must stop if you like ruins
Jan 2020
If you are in south Belize then drop in. If not, then don't go out of your way to see them. The ruins is in ruins. Some small pyrimids. Has a good example of a ballcourt. Three tombs have been found and contents removed. Best is the Stelis still standing and some well reserved in the museum. Great view of Maya Mountains, forest, Caribbean Sea.

Mayan Ruins
Jan 2020
This is a smaller ruins site but still very interesting how The pillars were laid out to study the stars and the sun. It was also interesting to read about what all was found inside the tombs when they buried. One tomb was found with three bodies, an animal and some pottery.
Also the arena was still in pretty good shape. It was easy to imagine people sitting there and watching the games much like we do today
