Lola & her husband were a joy to speak to about Placencia & art in general. Wonderful sense of humour that allowed for some lively chuckles. Needless to say, I purchased several of her pieces- particularly ones that gave me a good belly laugh. Her daughter expertly rolled the canvas ones to make for easy transport. Thanks for your artistic insight Lola. Now I can enjoy them at home in Toronto.

We had heard about Lola's prior to arrival so already knew this was going to be a stop. Buying some local art was how we wished to remember our trip. Having the chance to meet Lola and Fire makes the art much more memorable. Easy to get to but you are not looking for anything fancy. Glad we made the effort to shop locally. Now just need to find a spot on the wall.

Warm, friendly and nice pieces in every budget - paintings to carvings and small and large. A true gem

We ended up buying a small wooden painting but unpacked to find there was a crack in it. It's part of the appeal of using organic materials. Still I think $60 was too much to pay for it.

We saw paintings at Robert's Grove from this gallery so it was cool to stop in and see other works. It's right in the lower income part of town but we felt very safe.

Lola work is cheerful and colorful. Her gallery is the most rustic you will see. There is a great selection there. Lola's gallery is between Maya Beach and Placencia. There is a large sign at the turn off from the main road. Worth a stop.

I stopped in one night before dinner and was greeted immediately. I was able to browse around without a big sales push though was provided with just enough information for me to make an informative decision as to what I wanted to purchase. The art work was amazing. So life-like. I love mermaids and the paintings of the mermaids were really beautiful. I ended up buying a lovely ring made of blown colored glass and wrapped in metal. If I had wanted, I could have ordered something to be made per my specifications. Lovely establishment.

Lola is a delightful artist who happily shares her story and what is behind her art. The little village that her studio is in is a real eye opener to the culture. Lots of happy barefoot children playing with minimal "toys". Be sure to meet Fire....her new co-artist for her woodwork.

Lola's art is bright, cheery and reflects real life in Belize. The Gallery is also is the very real and gritty town of Seine Bight, which I think everyone should visit.
