We were fortunate to have Percy as a guide. We saw SO much wildlife, and tour of the jungle, and communicating with the monkeys was awesome, not to mention eating the mint flavored termites, and bringing home tree bark, and medicinal plant remedies. A must tour!!

I had no interest in SCUBA or snorkeling which my family planned to do, so I booked a different adventure. I went with a guide and four people I did not know but I had a fantastic day. We saw a 6-foot long crocodile in the water and another sunning on a tree. We hiked in a bamboo forest and... More

The tour guide was amazing, so informative. It was a where's Waldo experience finding the birds, alligators, iguana's, and monkeys. We loved the experience even though there was lots of mud due to much rain. The monkeys were quite loud and we loved watching them move locations swinging from tree to tree. I'm not usually a flora and fauna person,... More

We were disappointed to learn that our intended guide, Percy, "the best of the jungle" was not available for our visit as scheduled three months in advance. We, instead had two of his brothers as our guides. They were quite good, but it is my understanding that Percy is, without question, the best. There were a couple of things that... More

We had booked the tour with Monkey River Eco Tours. Alfonso loaded us and another customer in his boat shortly after 8am at the M&M gas station in Placencia and then navigated his boat to a hotel 15min away where he picked up another family. Then we were on our way to the Monkey River. The first stop was his... More

It has been a week of extra odinary weather through out the country, which gives us some flooding on the river, with rainy condition. Please note that nature dose not always give us what we would like, but what is presented at the time, and we must appreciate that. More

Visit January 2015 Very nice scenery. They do offer a lot in a small amount of time. The boat ride in(to) the jungle is relax and they take the time needed to show the surroundings. The walk in the jungle feel like they are a bit in a hurry. Lunch at the local fisherman’s village is nice. Lunch is OK.... More

The first day that we tried to go on this trip the guide canceled on us because it was raining too much. We were able to go the next day but it was touch and go for a while if he'd cancel again. It was about 45 minutes by boat from our hotel to Monkey River village. We got out... More

We had Captain Jak's Golf Cart Rentals, book our tour with Percy for a monkey River tour. He is born local and extremely knowledgeable. We were picked up on the lagoon side (2 minute walk) and started our trip at 8 am in a covered boat. That was a good thing because the sun can be quite strong by midday.... More

It is very interesting to see all kinds of wildlife on our tour up the Monkey River. The hike through the jungle and the sightings of the Howler monkeys barking was amazing. We also encountered the tracks of jaguars on our hike. A great way to spend the day. I highly recommend.

We took a group of 12, 6 adults and 6 kids on this tour and it was hands down one of the highlights of the trip. The guide had amazing knowledge of the area, the animals, and the plant life. We were able to see turtles, crocodiles, monkeys, iguana, manatees, and countless birds. The kids all ate termites, raw sugar... More
