What an experience! Our awesome guide Chris was extremely knowledgeable and informative of the local flora and fauna as we did our nature walk in the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. We saw leafcutter ant trails, ate “jungle candy” aka termites and even saw a sporing fungus, a real rarity. We followed that hike with a chill tube ride down the river to cool off before walking up to a stunning waterfall with a natural pool to swim in. The kids especially enjoyed the Maya “make up” tutorial. Chris was extremely good with the kids making sure we were working at their pace. We all had an amazing time and memories were definitely made.

Our day on the bay, Monkey River, jungle walk& village was filled with views of a huge variety of wildlife, learning of local history & culture , savoring a delicious lunch @ Alice’s restaurant.
Zane, our tour guide, would rate 10 stars if possible. He knows Monkey River & the area because he has lived there throughout his life & is a very seasoned guide. He exceeded expectations in all regards.
This is an experience not to be missed

Highly recommend the evening (~2 hr) tour with the Crocodile Research Coalition non-profit/research org! You get a nice boat ride through the lagoon, then to meet and watch the crocs get fed. All while learning about crocs and the CRC’s mission (including croc rehab, community education and engagement, and ecological restoration) from a knowledgeable guide. Proceeds go towards the CRC.

My finance and I decided to book this excursion last minute and we're very glad we did! We signed up to do the Cockscomb tubbing and got that and more. Our guide, Peter, started our tour with a in-depth explanation about the preserve and then took us on a ~1 hour hike though the forest (definitely bring bug spray!), followed by a delicious homemade lunch. The tubing was ~30 minutes and really relaxing and beautiful. It felt amazing getting in the fresh cold water. After the tube ride, we hiked ~20 minutes to a beautiful waterfall. Peter was extremely knowledge about all the different plants and animals. He was very passionate about his work and was genuinely happy to spend his Christmas was us, which really made the experience that much more memorable. He ensured we were safe and enjoying ourselves the entire time. Thank you again, Peter and Dtourz. We hope to be back soon!

What a great day! It started with a spotlessly clean van ride to the Reserve narrated by Peter who was truly a wealth of information and “bumbled”, as he put it, about the history and environment and answered any and all questions we had. The jungle was fascinating and Peter educated us on not only the flora and fauna but it’s relationship to the Belizean people. The river tubing was fun, fun fun as well as meditative. Experiencing the hike to the waterfall and differing landscape from lower in the jungle was interesting and standing under the falls an adventure! Oh, and lunch was scrumptious! This day had it all! And our guide Peter made it so informative and yet so comfortable. We all felt like old friends as the day ended with a sunset ride home. Isn’t that the Belizean way?!

This is one of those times when we weren't actually able ultimately book a tour with DTOURS, but the communication and customer service were so great that we wanted to post a review anyway! Definitely recommended, and next time we're in Placencia (which we've already booked for next year) we hope to actually go with D to see the Scarlet McCaws. Highly recommend these folks!

We did the Cockscomb Nature Preserve tour with Doyle and Kirk and what an experience!! After hiking the preserve and learning about the jaguars, the wild pigs, birds, and the medicinal uses of the plants we had a great lunch including Doyle’s smoked chicken to get us ready for the afternoon’s adventure. The afternoon consisted of tubing down the Stan Creek river, then hiking up to Big Ben’s Bluff Waterfall, then comes the fun and challenging part. We then traversed down the river climbing rocks and sliding down at least 6 rock slides. This is a one of a kind experience that you can only get with Doyle and DTOURZ and highly recommend it. Doyle is a great guide and Kirk was wonderful as well. If you are in the Placencia area you can’t miss this opportunity!

I wish that I knew more about Doyle’s bird watching talents and where to go before we ran out of time. We only had time to go with him to see the Scarlet Macaws and it was magic. We had a great time. Some others who joined us went birding in another area as well and told us later that it had been wonderful.

You can't go wrong booking with DTourz! It was our third time to Placencia and again we booked all our excursions through them. Doyle will give you an experience you will never forget and is always on time, safe, professional, and informative. Most importantly, his tours are ones you will remember forever! Our family of 6 booked three excursions. It was our third time doing the Cockscomb jungle hike, tubing, and rock slides. It's hard to describe how amazing this tour is, thus the reason we do it every time we come. We also did the snorkel trip to the beautiful and relaxing Moho Caye which was like being on our own private island. Finally, we did the cave kayaking adventure that is unlike anything we have ever experienced. I highly recommend booking everything with Doyle and his crew. Lunch was included in all our tours and is authentic homemade cooking from the best Belizean cooks. Even our picky teens loved the food. You will never forget your time in Belize and will want to return asap to do it again. We are already planning our next trip and will only book through DTourz!

We hired Doyle to do an overnight in the Jaguar Reserve/Coxscomb Basin. We were nervous about overnighting in the jungle but Doyle's expertise was stunning and comforting and we learned so much. You can get so much out of these trips and Doyle will be with you every step of the way.
Things to know:
1. Pay for a quality tour guide. This is not the cheapest tour guide, this the best tour guide. Simple. Why cut corners on the experience? Cut corners somewhere else in your life.
2. Doyle's catering is to die for. It's sometimes hard to find good, real, local food in a country you are visiting. Doyle's food and catering is GREAT. I miss it still.
3. He knows the land, he's an expert and he's fun to be around.
4. He can take you fishing, he can set up boat tours, he can cater your food, he can set you up with a guide for any tour in the country, he can give you the opportunity to stand in a jungle smelling cat pee and looking at trees that have been scratched by jaguars.
