A place to enjoy a meal and the beach! Average meal price would equate to $10-15 (American). The night we visited was reggae night. There was a live band great played good music. All open air seating. Colorful and enjoyable!

This place is very cool. By the beach with a great constant breeze. We had the shrimp and fish tacos and they were very good. Drinks are cheap and very nice. We had shots, beers and coladas and we had a great time with the waitress. She was the best.

Yes they have strong drinks, but if you stay in a cabana close to Barefoot Bar you quickly realize that your vacation will be filled with non stop Bob Marley Legend/Casio keyboard reggae and patrons who walk out from Barefoot Bar to use your beach area to puke and get high. And if you vacation next door to this bar for 8 days and want one night where the music stops blaring into your bedroom, don't ask the manager. She will will yell at you that "This is a beach resort, and if you don't know where you're going, you shouldn't go there!!!" I thought I got off the plane in Placencia... Barefoot Bar will make you feel like you got stuck in Cancun. And believe me, you will want to escape.

We remember your stay. Front cabana on the beach, the public beach, where anyone can walk, sit or yes in fact puke as you stated. We have no control over who walks on the beach. Since we are situated right next to another open air bar, that also plays live music several nights a week and serves liquor it could just have easily been patrons from there. Or from anywhere with in this community. As stated the beach is public. We do have someone that plays reggae (Bob Marley) once a week on a Casio Keyboard. From 5 - 9 pm. You'll note on that evening there were several people who were actually enjoying the novelty of being on a beach in the Caribbean listening to reggae in an open air location. We also have a jam session once a week from 5 - 9 pm, and one night of rock n roll until 9:30 pm on a Saturday. Other than that we have one night a month that there is entertainment later, our full moon party. Placencia is a village in the Caribbean, not a secluded beach resort. There are people here that come here to enjoy the interaction with others. They come to enjoy the local atmosphere. While we have been in this location for a short while, there have been other businesses run here that have had live music, and our neighbor has been running their bar for years with live music as a part of their lineup. Often the attitude in which you approach a situation results in the way people respond to you. When you came into our open air establishment on the night in question instead of asking to speak with the owner or manager privately you immediately began to berate her when she was identified to you. After stating that we ruined your vacation we found it odd that you spent so much of your remaining evenings with us enjoying food and drink. We've been to Cancun - a very different place than Placencia. We are sorry you did not fully enjoy your stay in Placencia. Your hotelier should have informed you of the change in the neighborhood. Many of their guests have extended their stay so that they could continue to enjoy the area. There are many other guesthouses in the village that are in a quieter part of town. The local tourism board could assist you in finding those. We also know that there are people, that have been to Placencia before, that have booked out the same cabana you stayed in for seven weeks because of its proximity to the Barefoot Bar. We strongly feel that at the end of the day that a small tourism destination like Placencia needs entertainment in order to thrive. Many, many people come to Placencia to enjoy places like Barefoot Bar and there are many that love to be right in the heart of the action. We are sorry that you were not one of them.

A large group of friends and took the Village Ferry to Placencia and went straight to Barefoot Beach Bar for early lunch last week when we were on our Norwegian Getaway 7 Day Western Caribbean Cruise. The staff was amazing they all went above and beyond to make sure our large group was satisfied with their amazing fresh and delicious food! Christi & Denise were the greatest of them all! She took amazing care of us and made sure we were very well taken care off from the moment we arrive there until we left later that afternoon.

Barefoot Bar provides a chilled out relaxed environment by day people drinking and socialising enjoying a refreshing lime juice or a cocktail off their extensive cocktail menu or eating.

The burgers here are certainly bit**in' as the menu suggests (see my photos) very tasty and fresh, i must also recommend the chicken salad it is huge well worth every penny and so tasty, the salad dressing is to die!!! Drinks are fantastic and well worth the money, the cocktail menu is great and you don't need many cocktails to get merry I can tell ya, I was buzzin' off just one...i believe there was Rum involved!! ;) And why not, you're in Belize after all, home of One Barrel and old Master coconut Rum!

And by night you are met the great buzz of a party atmosphere from locals and travelers alike having a great time!! You can even try your hand a drinking challenges here...drinking 5 bottles of beer...Beliken or Lighthouse of course (if you're familiar with the local bottled beers) out of Frisbee!!!!

This place makes you feel like you are on a Caribbean island chillin' and enjoying life!! It provides everything a holiday maker could wish for, bit**in' food, bit**in' drinks, and a bit**in' atmosphere all topped off with value for money with a bonus of meeting some really friendly people!!! Can I get a Amen!!!

The one thing I will say is that it is no longer on the beach, its been relocated to the road side but don't let that alarm you they are providing a beach environment through and through...you certainly feel like you at the beach, I don't know whether its the wooden frame of the place painted colourfully or the hanging t-shirts it just oozes of the beach!!!

I love it there it is an absolute must place to visit for anyone travelling in Placencia Belize you won't regret it by day and you definitely won't regret it by night!!!

Its one Bit**in'

Wife and I had dinner at Barefoot Bar after seeing how fun it looked as we walked the beach earlier in the day. We were there for happy hour which was 5 to 6pm and stayed past because it was so much fun. Our food was very good. My Caribbean Chicken was very well done and very flavorful. Service was wonderful. Can’t remember what my wife had but similar to tostadas. So much fun eating on the beach with toes in the sand and watching guys pitch horseshoe. Prices were moderate and well worth the food we ate. We would go back.

Oh my gosh. What a great spot. Our family group had so much fun here. Two of us had the special which was a flavorful steak on a bun. It came with a good salad. The kids had burritos, and ceviche and then topped the meal off with cheesecake. There were SEVEN choices of cheesecake. The beer was plenty cold....but small bottles! So they never get warm. This place is really big and open to the beach so you feel the breeze. My only concern was how loud the music was. But hey it was good music. It’s a pretty big restaurant so the servers are hopping all over the place but we sure got taken care of. They brought more ice for the soft drinks without us even asking. Get high marks from us, A hungry gang of seven.
