For outstanding locally owned guided adventures, look no further than Belize Unknown. Owner Arthur Westby is a wonderful person who is passionate about the unique and precious natural wonders of his country. He deploys excellent business practices, has outstanding staff, listens closely to client needs, and is fun to be with.
From my initial inquiry a month before arriving in Hopkins, Belize Unknown provided honest and detailed information about opportunities, weather impacts, and adventure options. While weather did allow for the extended boat ride to Lighthouse Reef, my 3-tank scuba tour in S Water Reserve of the Barrier Reef was among the best of my more than 3 decades of diving. The 4 person Belize Unknown team on the boat worked as one to provide for each participants needs and create a wonderful group experience.
My wife and I especially enjoyed our sunrise birdwatching by boat tour of Sittee River. Arthur and boat drive King James' knowledge and styles complimented each other to provide exciting birdwatching and an insiders understanding of local culture, history, and latest trends.
We look forward to making the Belize Unknown team a central part of our next extended holiday in Hopkins!

Whilst staying in Hopkins, I was recommended to use Belize Unknown by my hostel. I booked a local Scuba diving trip a was really impressed with the service and quality of the kit. The dive master was very professional and knowledgeable. Overall this was one of the best experiences I've had in Central America. Arthur the owner was also kind enough to help me with my onward travel. I can't recommend Belize Unknown and Hopkins village enough for a taste of Belize.

Guide “King” James and Captain “King” Jamal were awesome! My husband and I had a terrific time snorkeling, learning about the area, and joking around with James. Saw lots of fish, coral, two types of rays, and a manatee. Everything ran smoothly and operation was very professional. Enjoyed the fresh pineapple, home baked cookies, and chips & salsa snack at the beach at the mid-way point. Bonus: we got to try some fresh, raw conch— that was extra special and so delicious! Thank you, Belize Unknown for a terrific half-day snorkeling trip!! Highly recommend!

I did the scuba diving certification course with the rest of my family. The guides Arthur and Tough Love were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and cared for our safety and fun on the trip. They are honest, kind, and just wonderful people to lead your tour. If you are looking for these types of water excursions, Belize Unknown is the place for you. I would recommend them in a heartbeat

We were very happy to find Belize Unknown in Hopkins! Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, local team. Very welcoming from the moment we arrived in the office.
Brand new dive gear, nice small group for diving and very knowledgeable team on the boat. Highly recommended for diving while staying in Hopkins!

Had a private snorkeling experience with 2 friends and we had the time of our lives. We saw amazing tropical fish and coral. Our guide Mervin was absolutely the best! On our way to the island, Mervin stopped to point out the dolphins that were following the boat and gave us time to take video. He provided a great experience, education, and lunch. I highly recommend Belize Unknown!

We had a great day boating, snorkeling, eating and seeing some of the most beautiful Belize islands. Manager Chanice was so easy to work with and even met us on her day off to sign us up for today. Captain Michael and Guide Tyler were professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. They took us to an amazing reef for two snorkeling trips in the morning, followed by lunch and another afternoon snorkeling adventure. The food was great, equipment in good shape and even deluxe towels for us all. We would do this trip again with Belize Unknown!

I can’t say enough good things about Art and his adventure company/dive operation at Belize Unknown. He took us out to the reef and I had two of my best dives ever. My dive master Tuff Love was great and the visibility was incredible. We had two nurse sharks and a turtle swimming with us for a good portion of the dive, and the reef looked amazing. If you are in Hopkins, Belize, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Belize Unknown for all your tours!!

Outstanding company with great tours. Went with Aurthur and guide Christopher for a half-day snorkeling adventure out in the keys. We had our two kids, who had never snorkled before. The team was professional and got everyone comfortable in the shallows before we hit two different spots in the reef to see things like corals, flounders, and a nurse shark. We had a great snack on the sands between the two snorkeling outings. On the way back to the mainland, we managed to spot a manatee and Arthur stopped the boat so my wife could swim with the manatee. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
