Zip Lining & Cave Tubing From Placencia

3 reviews
We venture across the country to Jaguar Paw where upon arrival we gear up out for a total of 8 zip lines, soaring through jungle canopy and over rivers. After about 1.5 hours of thrilling zip lining we sit down enjoy a lunch before spending the afternoon in the cave for a tube ride that will awaken your sense of excitement. Float through mysterious limestone archways beckoning you into the mouths of centuries-old caves, holding untold stories of Maya rituals

What great spot. They have opened their home to share wine, stories, cigars and art. Find a bottle in the cellar, and they will open it for you, and serve you upstairs in te 365 viewing rooftop. Sunsets, are great on the roof!! Simple cheese or meats served, with good company.

If you are coming to Placencia (and you should!) and you want the best sunset experience, you need to visit The Pyramid House. The wine selection is outstanding, gifts and cigars are worth the visit as well. Order a cheese platter, pop a cork and take it all in at the top of a beautifully restored, Mayan-inspired “castle” where Fred and Gloria will make you feel at home in THEIR home. Lucky them! And lucky you if you want a Placencia memory like no other.

We were surprised by the beautiful surroundings and warm welcome inside this rather unusual looking building. We've been driving by for years on our visits to Placencia and had never stopped. Very nice wine selection in a true cellar and lots of interesting artwork and collectables for sale.

Stopped by because we thought it looked like a really cool place and then noticed they offered wine. Fred answered the door and invited us into what felt like their family room and kitchen. Gloria hopped up and greeted us too and then invited us down to the wine cellar to have a look. literally felt like family within minutes! The wine selection was great, cigar selection was great, advice and honesty about both was better. But that’s just where things started. Fred and Gloria were extremely respectful and non-imposing but it was us who wanted them to stay and visit. We ended up spending a good part of the evening before Fred suggested we better go get dinner before it was too late and called down to Dawn’s and had her hold a table for us. The next day we were down at Sailfish having a drink at the pool with Mike when somehow Fred found out we were there and hopped in his car to bring something we had left at Pyramid! Anyway we enjoyed the company of Fred and Gloria so much we ended up stopping by again and spent another evening with them enjoying great conversation, unbelievable stories, and, of course, good wine. Every review you’ll read before this one is completely accurate! Good location, awesome place (beautifully done from top to bottom!), great wines, and some of the best people I’ve met. (By the way, as great as Fred and Gloria are, if you’re just looking for a nice quiet evening out with a great view then you will not be disappointed!) Thanks Fred and Gloria, look forward to returning again!

We had heard about this place and wanted to give it a try. It's not easy to find a decent wine in the Placencia area, so I was really hopeful, and this place did not disappoint! The owners were great. They gave us a tour, helped us choose a bottle (or two!) of wine that we truly enjoyed, and took us to the rooftop to chat with them and watch the sunset, which was glorious. Next time we're in Belize, we'll definitely return.
