We just returned from our trip to Tikal and Belize. I had originally found Edwin's website on Trip Advisor (Edwin's Belize Adventure Tours) when looking for Belizean tours, but loved the idea of the Sunrise tour at Tikal. Edwin corresponded efficiently via email and arranged for every last detail, so all we had to do was pay and go. We had an excellent time and were in very capable hands with Edwin. He took care of all the details and accompanied us across the Guatemala/Belize border. He was very gracious in accommodating all of our requests and as a result we had a fabulous trip! We would recommend Edwin highly and will certainly contact him again when we return to Belize to see everything we missed this trip!

This adventure was worth every penny and every minute spend. Pick up at the hotel was on time. Driving to the border was easy, border crossing well organized by the tour guide. Count with approx 45. In through immigration and customs (same on the way back). The bus in Guatemala was clean and in good condition with AC. The driver did a good job, we never felt unsafe. The tour in Tikal took approx 3 hrs. You need to be able to hike in hot climate for that long. Lunch is included but only after the visit. So make sure you bring snack and enough water. You can buy refreshments but nothing more substantial than chips at the ruins. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating.

What an excellent guide! I can't say enough good things about working with Marlon with Gem Trips! I reserved with him due to other reviews and was not disappointed. He was easy to communicate with via email and we had several questions for him before we left the US. He prepared us in advance letting us know what was provided and what we needed to do on our end. We met him at the Guat/Belize border -we drove our rental car from San Ignosio (about 20 minutes) and parked for $3. He paid our Belize exit fee which was $20 per person US, guided us on where to take our passports to visit Guatemala and then we were on the road in a comfortable air conditioned van. The ride was about an hour long from the border and the 4 teenagers fell asleep but my husband and I took in the sites and asked Marlon several questions which he readily answered. Once we were at Tikal, he did an excellent job sharing information from the plants in the area to the wildlife which we would have missed had we done this on our own - he knew what sounds to listen for and where to look. He did an excellent job explaining to us and telling us the stories behind the different temples and ruins that we saw and was able to answer questions as we shot them at him. He was able to gauge the pace that worked best for us as we toured the temples and took several family pictures for us. Afterwards we had an outdoor lunch at a restaurant on the grounds which was also very good. On the trip back to the border, we had rearranged dropping off school supplies at a local school that he had gotten us in contact with, so we made that stop and got the opportunity to meet several children and one of the teachers which was wonderful. I would use Marlon in the future for several other tours he offers. It was a great experience!

Excellent! A must see tour while in the San Ignacio area of Belize! Tour guides are knowledgeable and able to flex with tourists' needs. Vans were air conditioned & comfortable. In addition to seeing the many ruins, we saw spider and howler monkeys. Our tour guide even woke up the howlers with her own howl! The food at the restaurant inside the park was great and there were vendors in the site who sold cold drinks & snacks. Wear comfortable shows, a hat & bug/sun screen.

Joaquin at Ka Ana Resort Hotel sets up with Hugo to go to Guatemala for the day to the Tikal Mayan Ruin. What a glorious educational experience it was . Hugo was a interpreter extroadinaire, we felt safe driving with him, and his information that he shared regarding Mayan beliefs, lives and rituals was informative and interesting. Tikal was a most fascinating Mayan ruin

brilliant guide called Moris (or close to that). he was very informative and patient with us and allowed us to take sneaky pictures on some of the sites we really shouldnt have been able to climb. He also made sure we squeezed in as much as we could see even if it meant we, as well as himself, had to reduce our rest and break times. great day out peppered with places to purchase beverages and such. amazing view at the top of temple 7 ( I think thats the one you can climb to the top). be cautious of the souvenir sellers, they often quote prices that those in the shops next door will undercut happily, having said that they were still very kind and very patient, must understand they must make a living too!

I recently visited Belize and stayed at the Mahoghany Hall Boutique Resort. I worked through the hotel to plan a full-day excursion and decided on the Xunantunich and Cahal Mayan Ruin tour as well as an afternoon cave tubing adventure. They chose Edwin as my guide, and I was very thankful.

Edwin Gonzalez is an exceptional tour guide and is extremely knowledgeable about Maya and the Belizian culture. He was fun to hang out with and very accomodating and courteous. Whatever shuttle, tour or adventure you are looking for in Belize, I'd recommend Edwin as your guide.

We really enjoyed our trip to Tikal from Belize with Edwin. He is timely, knowledgable about the Mayans, and enjoyable to talk with. Crossing the border into another coutry is always a little unnerving. Edwin had people to guide us through every step. We enjoyed him so much we even hired him a few days later to take us to the airport - a 1 1/2 hour drive from our resort.
