This morning our ATM trip was cancelled at the last minute so all of a sudden we had a free 8 hours! Stumbled past this charming store and took my chances. This turned out to be one of the BEST massages I’ve ever had. I suffer from lots of body aches and pains and Greta worked MAGIC on me. Again, I’ve had massages at 5 star hotels and Greta was by far, simply amazing. So appreciative.

the best massage i have had for ages. Deep tissue that was really great plus a body exfoliation. Gretal is really super. After ATM, Tikal and whizzing aroudn I thoroughly recomend visiting her spa! Its a bit tricky to find at first. If you walk towards the market look up to your right.

By the time you get to Cayo, you will definately be ready for a massage. There are several options in San Ignacio, but don't waste your time shopping: Ms Gretl is the best!
She is across the street from the bus stop, upstairs from Western Dairy, and right next door to Lucy's (the best breakfast In Belize).
Being as I am 147 years old, I get the Deep Tissue massage. Ms Gretl is skilled at finding the places that need special attention. In my case it's the calf's; before massage, cramps.
After massage, no cramps!
Ms Gretl offers other services like Mayan Abdominal Massage, Sunburn and Mosquito treatment, Coffee and Chocolate Scrubs, Manicure, Pedicure, Waxing, and a bunch of Girl Stuff like Facials, Nails, and 3D Designs. She keeps quite busy, so be sure to call in advance (open on Saturdays).

Gretel's is hands down the best salon in the area! My mom and I walked in around 530 and asked for a mani pedi and a haircut. She stayed until almost 7 pm doing these things - mani pedi for me and haircut for my mom. My mani pedi was amazing - she cleaned my cuticles better than anyone had ever done! And I had just gotten a manicure five days ago. She spent a lot of time scrubbing my feet as well - and my feet are WELL cared for at baseline - and they have never been smoother. I have never been happier spending $25 for a mani pedi. My mom got a haircut which cost $7.50. She often has a problem finding stylists who understand how to cut her hair because it's short and wavy, and she prefers as sleek a style as possible. Gretel understood exactly what she wanted and her hair looks better than it has in years. Throughout the almost 1.5 hours we were there Gretel was happily chatting with us, telling us about her life in Belize, her training, etc. She made us feel at ease and the time passed by fast with her company and excellent service.
Bottom line - go to this salon! You will not find someone who cares more about the quality of her service than Gretel.

I live in Santa Elena for 5 months now and I always go to Gretal for massage. She's amazing. Best masseuse I've had even compared to in the states. Her personally is sweet and genuine too. She really cares about people and wants everyone to feel good ☺

Wow. I was recommended to this place by my host, and I'm so glad I was!! I went for the combo, which was a massage, facial, body scrub, manicure, and pedicure 😍 which came up to the price of what I'm used to just a message being in the states.
The place is spectacularly clean, Gretel is friendly and fun to talk with. She really knows how to get your nails cleaned up! I mean, everything about this place is 100% perfect. I will definitely be going back!

My husband and I visited San Ignacio as part of our 10 year anniversary celebration. Our massages at Gretel's Salon and Spa were fabulous! Gretel gave my husband an intense deep tissue massage. I got a swedish massage. I think Gretel also does massages out of the resort we stayed at (Ka'ana) but the prices in her salon are cheaper than at the resort. It's better to get out into the town and experience quality local establishments. We definitely recommend Gretel!

Very thorough deep tissue massage! This was like a sports massage and chiropractic alignment in one. Gretel is very knowledgeable about the body and I felt taken care of. She has years of experience from fancy resorts so you’re in for a treat and a great deal. Highly recommend!
*If you do not prefer deep massages for muscle release - definitely opt for the Swedish.

Was having pain and called late in the day. Gretel was wonderful. She made time for me, and helped me get back on my feet so I could enjoy the rest of my trip!!! Would recommend!

This hidden Gem spa was exactly what I needed after the long bus ride to Belize. If you want to feel relaxed I would highly suggest you try Gretels spa! I got the full body sweddish massage and dont regret it all!
