This is a nice place to walk around, but it’s in the middle of nowhere. You’ll need to get a taxi if you don’t have a car, which makes it a fairly expensive trip. It takes about 30-40 minutes to get there from the town...More

The gardens are family owned and has about 45 acres of mostly fruit trees. The staff is knowledgeable. They have a small orchid building. It takes about an hour to walk it.

As a gardener, plant lover, & birder, 2 visits would have been very nice. I'm glad we opted for a guided tour and that we ate lunch there.

We stayed at the DuPlooy Lodge which is where the gardens are located. As other reviewers have mentioned this place is not as close to San Ignacio as you might think and it is a long 7 mile dirt road off of the main road...More
