The only thing wrong Was it wasn’t long enough. So much information I wanted to spend the whole day. Luis was very knowledgeable about the plants and how to make teas etc. we will go back again next year for 4 days. We really enjoyed the day there!!!

A Great Memory
Dec 2015 • Solo
I went here years ago, and still have the fondest memories of my trip here. I still quote some of the things I learned from this place. Worth the journey ! I paddled upstream to get there !

Worth the time

Medicinal knowledge is very important in Mayan history and if I were ever bitten by a Fer de Lance in Belize I would head to a medicinal healer. It is always good to have some basic knowledge of medicinal flora if you travel in jungle areas.

Sadly Heriberto died ....
Aug 2012 • Friends
This treasure of Belize heritage has fallen to the winds and Heriberto's knowledge has left with him. None of his family has carried on the tradition. You can visit the Känan K'aax School garden in Sta Familia only a few miles down river from Bullet Tree Falls and see if Master Gardener Narciso Torres is in his forest garden nearby. Both the school and his garden are windows into the marvels of traditional Maya forest gardening. He can be reached at +501 634 7893.

Medicinal Trail
Apr 2013 • Couples
We loved this tour...I was just sad I couldn't take all of the plants home. Our tour guide was very well informed and passionate about his subject, giving first hand accounts of instances when different plants were used in the various capacities. I am also proud to say I can identify a Poison Wood Tree now... :-)

Educational

On the same grounds as the iguana exhibit so both can be done at the same time. We found this to be a nice walk in the forest and a very educational experience.

Great medicinal trail in Bullet Tree Falls
Mar 2012
I've always liked the Masewal trail, and recommend it to all my friends when they are visiting. It's great to do the trail, and then tube the Mopan river, which is right there, for a few hours. Don Beto Cocom recently passed away, but the trail is still being cared for, and some local guides are stepping up to do tours there.
