A cool little souvenir shop!
Nov 2021
A unique spot for some really cool souvenirs! A nice Rasta vibe, the man running the shop was very nice and very helpful. He made sure the store felt clean and safe and it seems he puts a lot of great thought into what he sells. Definitely recommend!

Cigar and souvenir shop
Feb 2020 • Friends
Nice little souvenir shop with a Rasta vibe. Only place I could find in San Ignacio that sold good cigars. I really enjoyed the Costa Rican cigars, I would recommend getting some of those. Nice owner, very down to earth and genuine. Check it out.

The best shop in San Ignacio
Jun 2019 • Business
My fiancé and I went to this shop at least 5 times and we bought several pieces on different occasions. We loved the handmade quality jewellery, the owner’s (Carlton) honesty and great prices. It was always fun to browse through the new pieces of the week. Carlton also makes custom pieces. Great quality amber and black coral from Belize!! Highly recommended!

Really Cool Gift Shop
Jan 2019 • Couples
This shop was recommended by a waitress who works at the "Running W" restaurant in the "San Ignacio Resort Hotel". After our lunch at "Eva's", we did a little shopping. We bought post cards, stickers, and a "Belican Beer" baseball cap. The owner "Carlton" was charming and talkative, and we loved his Jamaican accent. He sells lots of jewelry (some made in Mexico) and arts and crafts. If you want to buy something made in Belize, ask if the items are made locally.

Silver, amber, wood, & the rest of the goods.

Best shopping for gifts we found in Cayo. Everything here was good quality and very reasonably priced. I visited solo in the evening and had a great visit with Carlton. I spotted one item from the thousands in his shop that I knew my wife would love. I told Carlton I'd secretly bring my wife the next day and she would pick it out for herself. I don't think he thought we would be back but the next day I suggested while walking by on Burns ave that we check out the store. We were shopping for about 5 min then she spotted it and asked to see the exact item. I paid with cash & a wink. Thanks for the 925, she just loves it.

Genuine crafts and genuine owner
Jan 2019 • Couples
We found this shop near the beginning of our trip and the they have some unique items and better quality than the majority of tourist shops. We were able to buy all our gifts for friends and family in one stop, and we were glad we did -- because we didn't see anything nicer elsewhere. My wife bought some beautiful bracelets and earrings -- check out the jewelry counter.
I strongly agree with the other reviewers that Carlton is a genuine self-made guy and we really enjoyed getting to chat with him! He's come a long way from his roots and I'm sure it wasn't easy -- but his vibe is really great and I'm sure that helped him along the way.

Owner is very nice! It reminds me of every gift shop in any city anywhere in the world. If you’ve seen Mayan crafts elsewhere in Belize, you’ll find the same. You will have more selection of “roots” gifts and things, but jewelry and other stuff could be bought anywhere. Come here for the ambience and conversation.

No visit to Western Belize is complete without a stop at Back to My Roots. Carlton is as genuine as it gets. No pressure to buy, instead a lot of respect !!!

If you are looking for something different to bring home or gift, either Carlton has it or it doesn’t exist !!!!
