Through our hotel Ka'ana resort, we got the opportunity to ride horses with Jimmy along the river. Horses were well trained and great for first time riders, great way to see the countryside and the ruins.

What an incredible day's adventure for my wife, myself and our 10 year old grandson. The day started early with transportation from our room at the Vanilla Lodge (also great!) The driver took us to the stables where Santiago, the owner, and his assistant Devon, fitted us out for the ride. After a gentle hour+ horseback ride, we arrived at... More

We wanted to see the ruins and this was a way to incorporate a nice horseback ride at the same time. This tour is so complete and Hanna Stables is amazing. We were lucky enough to have the lead horse trainer Jimmy as our guide thru the woods. The last time I was on a horse it threw me and... More

We went as a family of 3 adults and 2 boys (ages 12 & 14). i noted ahead of time that one of our group was nervous about horses and they gave him a horse named "Justice" - it was a perfect match. After the excursion this person rated the trip as one of his top experiences. Our guide was... More

Booked through our Hotel, Maya Mountain Lodge. Our guide William was awesome. He led us on our hour horseback ride to the ruins and gave us a personal tour of the Mayan ruins, Xunantunich. If your kids love trail rides, this one is a must. Trip is perfect for novice horseman like us.

We originally found Hanna Stables on Trip Advisor and I thought horseback riding would be a great way to tour Xunantunich. I wasn't let down. It was an easy and gorgeous ride down the Mopan river full of beautiful vegetation and wildlife. We crossed the river on a little hand-cranked ferry and rode all the way up to the ruins.... More

We booked the ride through Black Rock Lodge, where we were staying. Santiago picked us up there and took us to the stables where we were matched with horses. We are not accomplished riders and had an 11-year-old with us, and the horses were very safe for us, but they were still more responsive than some of the tired horses... More

They will give you a private horse back riding tour. They will also pick you up at your hotel (as long as it is close to SI) free of charge. William was our guide and spent a lot of time with us. Once we got to the ruins, we spent about 2 hours walking around at our own pace. I... More

The horseback ride was great, and the handlers were great with our small kids (3&5). However, I booked the car service to and from Belize City, and our car on the way back to Belize City was in poor condition and made us very uncomfortable about the 2 hour drive back. If you're going to horseback ride, I would suggest... More
