We very much enjoyed the ride from the stables to Xunantunich. Half of the ride is through fields, woods, and along a river. Some of the ride is along a roadside which is less interesting but the kids still enjoyed being on horses. Our guide...More

Jimmy guided the trip to Xunantunich along the river making the ride lively and interesting. Impressed with the care they took to accommodate a 7 year old boy who had never ridden. By the end of the day he was leading the way back and...More

While Tikal is probably one of the most impressive Mayan Ruins one can see, I wouldn't recommend it if everyone is not going to appreciate it. Plus to really see Tikal, I'd recommend at least 3 days at the site. If everyone has a good time at Xunantunich, you could squeeze in the ruins of Cahal Pech. It is just up the road from your hotel. Also, not far from the BC airport is Altun Ha, a small site worth seeing.
