When we were waiting for Elias to pick us up to go to Tikal, I cringed while I watched another tour company load into a large bus. However, I was very delighted when Elias picked us up in a van that was extremely clean! While driving to Tikal, Elias did not miss a beat and educated us on the local Belizian and Mayan culture.
Crossing the boarder into Guatamala was a breeze! He had all of the fees taken care of, and we were through in a matter of minutes.
The next day, Elias took us to the ATM Cave. He knew that we are more adventurous, and did an amazing job of taking us through parts of the cave that were not the commonly traveled routes. He had a great amount of respect for the Mayan culture and is clearly passionate about educating himself about the culture. When we completed the cave tour, his wife also prepared an EXCELLENT meal for us. It may have been my favorite meal of the trip.
I love that we traveled in small groups and that our experience was adjusted to give us the best experience possible. Going on the tours with Elias was definitely the highlight of our trip to Beliez.

Elias, the owner, did an amazing job taking care of my family of 14 (9 adults and 5 children) and showing us the beauty of the mayan ruins on day 1 and then with the ATM caves on day 2. His foundation of knowledge is vast and his other tour guides, Carlos and Ben did a great job showing us the mayan ruins and the ATM caves, respectively. The food was also delicious, he opened our eyes and palates to Marie Sharps delicious Belize hot sauce. We would definitely recommend him to any small or large family visiting this beautiful country.

We went on the ATM tour with them. Our guide was Ben and we were a group of 8 with the youngest being 9 years old.
The excursion was awesome. Mind you it does require some level of physical fitness. There are rocks to climb and walking through chest high water at times. Some areas are not meant for those who are claustrophobic.
Overall our group enjoyed the whole activity and you get to see some really cool things.
Ben was like a strict teacher, which made the experience very safe but a little stressful at times. Overall he is a great guide who helped us maneuver some of the difficult parts of the cave safely and with ease. He also took good care of our youngest member.
And at the end the homemade meal that he provided was awesome and very satisfying. We had rice, grilled veggies, chicken, and fried plantains….. yummy!!

Elias is extremely knowledgeable and experienced regarding the history of the cultural and geographical treasures hidden in Belize.
He expertly guided us through the incredible ATM cave, one of the most terrifying and exhilarating experiences of my life. His extensive experience helped me to feel safe and know what to expect so I could appreciate the historical treasure of the Mayan Ruins within.
We had a great day touring with Elias in beautiful Belize. K'atun Ajaw- Belize Cultural Tours are highly recommended for all your Western Belize adventures.
Because cameras are no longer allowed in the caves (due to damage to the skeletal remains), I don't have photos of the actual cave experience, which will blow your mind! Just a few beautiful shots on the way to the cave.

Elias is amazing. He picked us up from the airport and drove us to the hotel we were staying at. He provided lots of information about local towns and answered every question my wife and I asked (we were celebrating our honeymoon when we came to belize). He even shared local favorites for restaurants and was overall very informative. The next day Elias picked us up from our hotel and drove us to Xunantunich, where we met Nas who was our guide for the ruins and was so amazing at explaining everything about the ruins and has so much great experience and was such a nice and great guy! He was so amazing I cannot tell you how good of a tour he gave! He even took great pictures for us. After we left Xunantunich Elias picked us up and drove us to a local spot where we enjoyed the Belizean
dish of rice and beans with baked chicken and fried plantain. The food was absolutely delicious and was one of the best meals we had on this trip. Next on the days list was a chocolate demonstration where we all got to make chocolate the way the Mayans used too, as well as taste it the way it was intended by them. The guides here were amazing and again very informative and taught us lots about chocolate making in the Mayan culture. Elias even sat in and joined us for the chocolate demonstration. Next we went to the Iguana Conservation project where we got to learn about the Iguanas in the area and even meet some that they had been working with. We had loads of fun here and got to hold the iguanas and even let some small ones walk up our arms! This was one of the best days I've had in my life and I will never forget it. The next day Elias drove us back to the airport, but before he dropped us off there we made a stop by the Belize Zoo which was a unique and fun pit stop on our way out to the Caye. Once we got to Belize City Elias drove us around and gave us a great tour, enjoying the beautiful colors and architecture, as well as everything Elias had to share. I cannot stress enough how amazing not only Elias is, but everywhere he took us was a unique and amazing experience. When we come back to belize, we will definitely use Elias' company again.

We did the ATM cave tour and had an amazing time. Elias was knowledgeable, and expertly lead us with care through the cave system. The cave itself is rich in history and a mind blowing experience, and Elias was a wonderful guide to lead us. His wife’s picnic lunch was also fabulous. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

We went on a tour with Elias in the ATM Caves and it was incredible. Elias was so knowledgeable and also grew up in San Ignacio so it was really refreshing to hear his take on things in addition to all the historical stuff. Elias was funny, engaging, and genuinely interested in Mayan history, and we felt very comfortable and safe throughout the tour. Also the meal was way too delicious for a tour lunch! 10/10 definitely recommend and ask for Elias!

A trip to the ATM caves should not be missed.
Our Guide Elias Cambranes picked us up and told us all kinds of facts about the region and the country along the way. He paid attention to everyone in the group and talked extensively and clearly about all aspects of Mayan culture in the cave. The cave is quite a challenge at times. Swimming, clambering over and between large boulders. It is challenging and adventurous but remains safe. It's definitely worth his money.

The prior review is great, except it does give the overnight option. We decided to book at one the three hotels within Tikal park. It’s your choice by price and group size.
Our guide who showed us Tikal during the day, escorted us on the Sunrise tour the next morning. Afterwards we ate breakfast on our our and then toured the museums and packed.
Our ride was there promptly as promised and drove to the border. Our other driver was waiting to take us to Belize city.
Very easy transaction. Best to communicate on WhatsApp and Book with Belize tourism website

You need one whole day for Tikal. We did a similar thing to your plan. If you reach on Wednesday, going to Tikal on Thursday or Friday will be perfect.

Ask Casa Blanca Guest House for their rates. This is a tour operator not a hotel. They just operate out of Casa Blanca Guest House.
