We thoroughly enjoyed our Cave tour. The National Park is well maintained and the trail from the parking lots to the cave and to the Blue Hole were both short and beautiful. Although you can view a portion of the cave without a guide, we chose Upside Down Tours so we could have the full experience. Our guide pointed out plants and animal life on the trail and told us all about the history of the Mayan People and how they used the cave. He made sure we saw all the amazing crystals and stalagmites and tites along the way. The opening to the cave is spectacular both exiting and entering and the water was refreshing. We were able to view the headwaters and also float past the entrance to a larger chamber where the fruit bats hang. The cave formations are numerous and beautiful. The entire tour was 2 hours. Highly recommend our guide - Upside Down Tours. Easy to work with! Great Outfit!!

What fun!! This was one of several amazing experiences during our time in Belize. We had a wonderful tour guide, Pedro with Upside Down Tours. He was a great guide and a lot of fun too.

There is a very short and very easy "hike" (walk) to the cave and then a short walk in the cave to the spot where you get in the river with the tubes. The tubing is basically a lazy river tube down the river inside the cave. It is fun and absolutely beautiful. I loved it when our small group all turned off our headlamps and enjoyed some time riding in the dark!

I highly recommend the cave tubing. To tube you must be with a guide, or at least that is my understanding.

I was not sure what to expect from a cave tour aside from getting muddy. But wow! I was so surprise to see how pristine the cave river water was as it flowed over river rocks and around the underground rock formations. Once in the cave, there were ZERO bugs, zero trash, zero noise (aside from the sound of rushing water), and zero light (if you turn off your headlamp). It was such a neat experience! For those who are not up to substantial physical activity, this leisurely walk to the cave and float on the river might work well for you.

We stopped on our way through one day while traveling to Belmopan. We just did the self guided tour since we were a little pressed for time. But I'm glad we stopped, it was very cheap to enter the park and we were there about 2 hours. It's an easy hike to the cave and the cave is also an easy hike once inside. Turn your headlamp off and just enjoy!

Our family is what I’d call cave connoisseurs! We have visited many caves across the US so this was a treat to see a cave outside the US. It was nice and we were glad to make the stop. We just did the self guided tour because of time constraints. It was good for 18-66 years old. The price includes a trip to the blue hole. $4 US. Go ahead and get the head lamps for a few extra bucks that will go toward the national park funds.

Great time and great guides! We got to tube in total darkness for several minutes. The water was cool but felt great in the heat. The cave is only a 10 minute ride from Sleeping Giant Lodge.

We had so much fun with Orlan, our guide for cave tubing in St. Herman’s cave. Orlan was knowledgeable about the caves history. He was a great guide with great energy. He made us feel safe. We really enjoyed the trip. I recommend Orlan. Excellent guide!

The walk to the cave is so beautiful and not strenuous so it's a nice warmup for the next few hours! The first half of the cave tour is fairly mild, with a great history lesson (if you're with Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort) and cool formations. The last part of the tour, you're up and down, crawling and squeezing your way through, climbing over and around - this is real caving people! If you have any physical ailments that affect mobility, I would not recommend this tour. If you're in good physical shape and like a challenge, this is perfect! Note: If you take a camera, take a small pocket-sized one. Try not to take large packs or any pack for that matter. It will get dirty and may get in the way.

I tried to make arrangements ahead of time with another nearby outfit to go cave river tubing while on vacation in Belize, and I should've been forewarned by the difficulties in planning things with them -- but the final straw came when I woke up early, rode a rented motorcycle 2 hours in the rain, only to be told that the tour had been canceled.

Enter St. Herman's, which was recommended to me by an employee at that other place. They were doing cave river tubing that day, and we were able to ride over and get on the tour immediately (another couple had just departed with the guide). We were so grateful that our day wasn't wasted!!!

It was a truly unforgettable experience. Our guide told us lots of info about caves in general, how these caves were made, the history of the Mayans and their beliefs in caves, etc. After getting our headlamps and carrying our tubes on our shoulders, we headed into the dark.

It's a whole different world down there, and very exciting! Words can't describe the thrill of sweeping along an underground river channel, seeing bats fluttering overhead and amazing stone formations whiz by.

It was drizzly and a bit chilly out the day we went, but we quickly got used to the water temperature. I was too excited to be cold! Still, wear more than just a bathing suit, as it can be muddy down there.
