We signed up for the cave tubing tour from our cruise ship. We were not informed that it was a 1 -1/2 hour bus trip to get there. We were prepared for the walk through the jungle. It was flat, not strenuous, but rough on the feet in water shoes. The water felt great after working up a sweat. We were in groups of 8 with tubes lashed together. The float through the cave took about 20 minutes, all the while being drug by the guide, who was walking in waist deep water. Very little current. There was one section of the cave that had little water falls, but if you were on the opposite sided of the tubes, as I was, unable to see them. At the end, you are deposited in the locker area, where there are no working showers. We were given one tiny cup of lukewarm colored water, our lunch of chicken and rice (it was good), and expected to pay 9-15 dollars for a beer or drink. A very disappointing experience. Our bus of 45 passengers was completely quiet on the 1-1/2 hour trip back to the ship. No excitement at all over what we had just experienced.

Such a fun excursion Shanna Banana was EXCELLENT!! Made the cave tubing feel safe. Ziplining was awesome. And the Buggy’s through the jungle were outstanding thanks to the rain the splashing through the mud puddles made it exciting!!

Must do! Our party of 6 booked zip lining and cave tubing and loved every moment of it. Our driver showed up at our hotel on time and our adventure began. Our tour guide, Juan, was so much fun and extremely knowledgable. We went through multiple zip lining lines, then had a nice relaxing ride on the river through the caves. To top it off, the included lunch at a nearby restaurant was delicious. Definitely a highlight of our trip!

We enjoyed the tubing experience. First, we walked about 40 minutes to get to the location where the tubes and helmets were waiting for us. I recommend you wear water shoes and also spray against the mosquitos. We then got in the tube, and the guides moved us along in the water. It took about an hour to tube through the cave and then the river. It was a very fun and relaxing experience. I brought my camera along and took pictures. It did not get wet.

We signed up for Horseback Riding, ATV, Zip Lining.
Horseback ride was the best of the 3, Banana Bank Ranch is a really big 4,000 acre ranch. Our guide was very good and pointed out flora and birds, and we took the horses into the Belize River. Wish it was a longer tour.
Next we did ATV, which was very disappointing! Half the ride was getting to and from the dirt path, it was not challenging and just not fun.
Zip Lining was fun, very exhilarating. 7 platforms and it went by very fast.

Tony from Go Maya Belize Adventures made this an amazing and memorable experience. He picked us up promptly at 9am and drove us to Zip lining. The zip lining staff were courteous and friendly. Esbin and Francisco were our zip lining guides. They made sure we understood the safety protocols and what we needed to do. They also made sure that we recorded the experience for future memorys and to share. It was so fun!!! Next we got back in the van and headed to tubing. Tony made sure we had all the gear and were ready to go. We first hiked to the cave opening. Then we swam a little bit while Tony tied up the tubes. Then we began the float. Tony filled us in on all kinds of facts about the caves and the wildlife it was both exciting and fun. There are changing room and stalls to buy stuff (such as pineapple drink - add as much rum as you like) and slate carvings near the parking lot. After tubing we stopped for a traditional rice and beans lunch (not included in tour) and headed back to the hotel.

Fun! Beautiful “unBELIZable” views! Herman was our guide and he kept us on time and we all enjoyed the trip. The bus ride is LONG! But the bud had AC and hearing about Beliz made the time go by fast. The walk/hike is intense. We are all very physically fit and we still noticed it was long, rough terrain and a lot of steps!!

My group had a wonderful experience with our guide Shauna who shared many facts about Belize on our drive from the port. At the location, we had a good time at zip lines, atvs, and cave tubing. Samuel was excellent taking us through the caves. Our whole group enjoyed the lunch and looking through the gift shop .

Absolutely incredible way to spend an afternoon in Belize. Combining an educational and entertaining short jungle hike, river tubing, cave exploring, cliff jumping, and zip lining over a river to the sound of howler monkeys in the vicinity. It’s one of the most exhilarating afternoons I’ve ever had. If you go to Belize this is a must do experience

Amazing morning ziplining through the jungle with highly experienced and very fun guides. Totally exhilarating, even for the novices with us! Then spent the next couple of hours with Roberto cave tubing through some of the most beautiful caves I have ever seen. Long low ceilinged tunnels opening into limestone cathedral caverns of soaring heights. Incredible rock formations of amazing variety given they all formed in the same environment. And Roberto was such a wonderful guide. So informative about the flora and fauna on the way to the cave entrance, local traditions and superstitions, and the caves themselves. If you visit Belize, don't miss this entirely unique and breathtaking experience. And be sure to insist on Roberto as your guide!!

How long is the actual tubing experience. I know the ride to and from is pretty long. Is there lockers to put your things in. Also I see we can get lunch but can we bring our own. Have very picky eater also some with nut allergies and some sensitive to spicy foods.

I am a non swimmer, how fast is the river?
Written March 9, 2022
Very slow. And it is not deep. A guide walks in the river and drags your inner tubes.
Written March 9, 2022
Can you drive there on your own and rent tubes or do you need to be with a tour company?
Written March 27, 2019
Good question...I don't know. Not sure I would take my sedan, since we switched to other buses that must have had lower gears for the last 1/2 mile that was extremely steep. I don't remember seeing people not with a group, but it doesn't mean it's not possible. Sorry I can't be more help!

Hello, we are a family of 5 and are docking from the liberty of the seas on June 7, 2018. My kids do not want to do the zip line. Is it possible to only do the other 2 activities, like the UTV and water tubes? Also, on the UTVs, my son is 15, can he drive the UTV? He knows how to drive one.
Written May 8, 2018
We only did the ziplining and tubing so I don't know as much about the UTVs. The cruise excursion did include different options but I don't recall if Tubing + UTV was one of them.
I found that the cruise line wasn't particularly knowledgeable in regards to details about the tours and they aren't too transparent about who the tour operators are but the one we were with was Chukka (this site won't let me put in the URL but you can find it by that name). You may want to try contacting them to see if they are the operator of the excursions you are looking at so that you can ask them your questions.

Hello! I am going to book one of the cave tubing and ziplining excursions at Jaguar Paw through Carnival. One includes lunch for an additional $30 and one does not. i've read there are food options available for purchase and was thinking it might be more cost effective to buy our own lunch. Has anyone done this?
Written January 17, 2018
I did the cave tubing and zip line with lunch. It was great but the food wasn't really that great and the portion wasn't very big. Save your $30 and buy food from their concession stand.

Are you given an opportunity to change clothes between zip lining and cave tubing? Hoping to wear a bathing suit for tubing but not for zipline
Written April 12, 2017
Hi Yvette - great question. However I only went tubing. There are restrooms and places to change clothes and I can't imagine guides not allowing time in between activities. If you haven't yet, try calling or emailing any of the tour guides/companies you are interested in.
Hope this helps a bit and have a fantastic trip!

Hello, we are planning to take the jaguar paw zip line and cave tubing adventure next week during a stop in Belize off our cruise. Can you tell me if they give you an opportunity to change clothes between ziplining and tubing or should we wear bathing suits under clothes?
Written April 12, 2017
Hi
Yes there are changing rooms & lockers on site.
Both activities are a short walk away so you can change after tubing.
Written April 15, 2017
can we bring a back pack on this tour to keep our things dry?
Written February 20, 2017
Yes, you can bring a dry bag -backpack to keep your things dry. Just bring the things that you really want to keep with you, since the more things you bring the more you will have to carry during the hike through the stony (small to medium size river stones). Camera/phone can be place in small 'dry pouches', which you can hang around your neck.
This is a relaxing experience and your guide will be doing most of the work along the river (if you are at a tight schedule), even if you do this adventure 'free style' (more enjoyable but you do the exercise yourself with guidance from the guide - right by your side). Your change of clothes, shoes, etc., can be left in the vehicle, other valuables that are not necessary to bring on tours can be left in your hotel's safe.

Hi - very interested in your experience. We will be doing this tour next week. Could I wear my runners for the trek and then put everything in a back pack (in bags to keep dry) to take along?
Written February 20, 2017
They have lockers at the site, but they're where the lunch, restrooms, and shop are. If you're on the jungle trek first, you walk from there to the water, and there's no place near the water to store things. At most, you could wear your sneakers on the trek and then take them off before getting on the tube and hold them on your chest.
