We booked through carnival for the cave tubing tour but were notified the night before that the caves were flooded so we opted to do the zip line portion. It was fun and the staff was friendly but I have done better zip lines for...More

Loved our experience ziplining and cave tubing at the Jaguar Paw outpost! Our guide, Herman, picked us up from the port in a air conditioned school bus. The drive was about 1 hr 15 min to the location. Herman filled the bus ride with all...More

We only did the ziplining and tubing so I don't know as much about the UTVs. The cruise excursion did include different options but I don't recall if Tubing + UTV was one of them. I found that the cruise line wasn't... More

I did the cave tubing and zip line with lunch. It was great but the food wasn't really that great and the portion wasn't very big. Save your $30 and buy food from their concession stand.

Tours from Cayo & Mountain Ridge - suggestions??? (3 Replies)
I am staying 3 days at hidden valley and 3 days at chaa chaa creek. What would you suggest for tours? I will have 5 full days. Which is best to do from which location? I would like to see the mayan ruins yet don't need to see then all... Caracol? Tikal? Both? I am intriguied by cave tubing. ATM? Jaguar Paw? Caves Branch? Thoughts? Wait to book when in belize? Book in advance? Book through hotels? It is just my wife and I (mid 30s); adventuruous yet not zealous; would...More

We stayed at Chaa Creek in June and did the ATM tour and the one day Tikal tour. Highly recommend both. We had a car so drove into San Ignacio and went with Mayawalk tours for both. Chaa Creek can set up both tours but I believe you pay a slight premium for them to book it and be picked up at Chaa Creek. We had 5 of us so we saved some $$ for basically the same thing since they contract out with the tour companies in San Ignacio anyhow. Both Tikal and ATM were really cool to do. The day trip...More

Belize over Christmas? (2 Replies)
We (a Dad and kids 20, 17, 14) will be spending 4 days in AC at Steve & Becky's the week before Christmas and then heading in to Jaguar Paw for 4 more days. It was the only time we could get away and only places we could get., I'm concerned that Christmas and Boxing day might limit the activities like cave tubing, zip line or trip to Xuanantunich. Anyone know about visting during Christmas time? Any suggestions?

Cave tubing Questions (AGAIN!?) (5 Replies)
Hi All, Just trying to nail down a few specifics. Whenever I do a net-search for info on Jaguar Paw, I'm directed to the CHUKKA adventure site (I assume this stems from Jaguar Paw's past legal problems with 3rd party guide sevice companies?) No mention of the Jaguar Paw Hotel, Jaguar Paw Park , etc etc. Does the hotel still function? If I were to drive there (how do I drive there), is guide service available for tubing? Is there still choice (Jaguar/Caves Branch)? Perhaps an opinion;...More

We find it best to use a guide that is at the JP national park, and we'll never use the resort again. Fryjack is the guide we use the most, and he's great! If you are in Belmopan, you could find a guide there, , but since you'll have a car, you could do JP and the zoo, and something else. Happy tubing!
