If I could give 10 stars, I certainly would.

Where do I start? From the time I emailed Waylon Gordon for information and kept changing my plans, itinerary, etc to the moment they dropped us back off at the port, I can't think of one negative thing to say, truly! Waylon was very patient with me, always replied quickly, and their prices were pretty great also! Walking into port, they were already there waiting with signs. Apparently I had given the wrong time so they asked us to come back about an hour later at our scheduled time. No problem! A sweet lady named Ruth talked my son into twisting his hair while we waited. We went back about 15 minutes prior as asked and were sitting on a air conditioned school bus within 10 minutes. Norman, our tour guide, along with Kevin and Chino came along. The ride was great with Norman being very knowledgeable of sites along the way to Altun Ha ruins. Once we arrived, there was a quick tour and then off to see the ruins! They were there all along the way to help anyone needing assistance up or down. (Those steps are steep, I guess the Mayans were tall people lol) and on the way out, there were little shops. My daughter was dying for a coconut drink and I had ran out of cash. Well, up walks Kevin who buys my daughter the coconut drink. (Really, who does that? Not many people that I know of) She was thrilled and so happy! On the ride back, Kevin and Chino talked to us exclusively the whole way. We had wonderful conversations about how they live, how we live, we even talked politics! (I'm STILL with HER!)
The whole experience was just uplifting from start to finish. They not only made us feel welcome, but like we were their family. I have truly never met a better group of people. We tipped them well and although we didn't want it to end, bid farewell and ended our day on a high note.
WHEN I go back to Belize in the future, I will ONLY book with Way To Go Tours and I'd recommend you do the same. If you're lucky to get the 3 guides we did, you'll be in great hands!

We really enjoyed this tour, the guide to the sanctuary was awesome!! The sanctuary itself isnt big and it was just a short walk to where the monkeys are. These monkeys aren't caged at all and are a small group (1 male with 2 females and a baby). Its hit or miss if you'll get a monkey to come down and it wont be the male since he stays up high to protect! Again Way to go tours is the way to go when in Belize!

This was the best part of our visit. There we 21 family member in our group and no one left disappointed. The bus operators made sure the party never stopped, from pick-up to drop-off. we made a few stops along the way to take photos and buy souvenirs. A must-do if you're tired of the same excursions every trip. I would definitely do it again.

This was by far THE worse! My husband and I literally laugh about. We were arrived at Port ready and for some reason the "tour" was gone although we were early, we were told they would return to get us an they did! The guy then told us that we would get our very own tour guide and "that will be much better" We were introduced to a guy name Snake and he walked us to this 1980s Scooby Do style van that did not even appear to run, LOL! He entered through the passenger side and the a/c blew warm air, my husband figured we'd give it a try, Snake was very knowledgeable about the area so we enjoyed that! Made it to the Rum Factory and was only taken to the store and told by Snake to get a tour of the factory in the back was an additional cost, we did a taste of one kind of rum then left... When we returned Snack said we owed money and when we said we paid and showed the receipt he was ok...thats because that jerk aka Snake was trying to get money from us! will NEVER use Way to Go or recommend it. Carnival cruise should remove them from their list

Terrible. No one showed up but I didn't get a cancellation notice or refund. Booked the previous day and they canceled on me at 9pm the night before.

Very interesting sanctuary; Howler Monkeys were great, and our guide was able to get some of them to come down in the trees and interact. Very low impact hike through rain forest was interesting in learning about the wildlife and the flora. The walk is not handicapped accessible, however, but the bus was able to drop my mother-in-law off close to the monkeys. She missed the hike and other information. That being said, they have a nice paradigm wherein the monkeys and other wildlife are protected, but the local people are engaged in alternative commerce to sustain themselves. Overall, very enjoyable

A great experience! But first, there is a time difference between the ship and Belize so we had to wait about 90 minutes for the tour to start. Our van driver was Waylon and he gave us lots of info on Belize during the hour ride out to the sanctuary. Our tour guide at the sanctuary was Royce who was passionate about preserving the native habitat. He gave us lots of info about their relationship with this family of seven monkeys, then led us on a short hike to where the monkeys usually are found. However, on this day the monkeys were further out arguing over territory with another family and were further out. The noise of the arguing monkeys was amazing. We asked Royce to take us further out and we got to feed a two-year old female who came down out of the trees. (Folks with limited mobility would not have been able to go further out.) After we got back to the sanctuary the staff offered a local lunch for an additional fee but we declined that option. If you want to get away from the routine tourist experience and feel like you are getting an authentic experience of Belize, this is the trip for you. We absolutely recommend it.

City tour was...completely unexceptional. No time to stop and actually take a picture at any of the "sights" pointed out by our knowledgeable guide. The colonial buildings are somewhat photogenic, particularly the wooden structures with shutters. The church that I wanted to photograph was not available to visit. The streets are somewhat colorful, but rundown and featureless. The worst: the paving is horrible and those damned sleeping policemen made it impossible to get a "moving picture." Shooting video was almost useless. As far as the Rum Factory, it was...not as cool as the Watling's Factory in Nassau. It was a TOTAL sales con. You pay for one free stinkin' sample of this HORRIBLE rum drink that tasted a lot of fruit juice. I was expecting RUM, not some cheap party punch. I threw it away after my tongue revolted. The "museum" was full of reprints of old photos, not a lot of relics and things to actually SEE. Not like touring an old distillery. There is a glass panel that lets you watch the workers bottling, labeling and checking clipboards. Very interesting. NOT. For me, the best part of the whole experience was buying some fresh roasted cashews from the the guy who hangs outside. DELICIOUS!

This is a small remote sanctuary area, I believe the protected area is quite large but we only walked and saw a tiny portion of the area, we were the only ones there at the time. We had a nice guide, Robert. He started by telling a bit of information about the monkeys, then walk a short distance into the tree/jungle area. We were able to see a family of howlers which was so nice to see them in their habitat. Robert also told us a lot about the local fauna. Bring bug spray!! Loads and loads of mosquitos.

Had a very nice tour of Belize city. Cardinal our driver/guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable informative and made the tour entertaining. We saw much of the city, and stopped by the rum factory. And got a free sample and a few samples for a very small fee (2 for $1 us). Cardinal even showed us around a bit an knew about the factories history, and rum making.
